A nice woman found me in the desert when she was running with her dogs. Luckily she was able to catch me and bring me to safety! Understandably I’m a little shy after my ordeal outdoors, but I’m friendly. I like petting, brushing and scratching — I could get used to that very easily. I hope to do just that by finding someone to give me an indoor home. In return I will be your companion for years to come. I’m young enough to be somewhat active, but I’ll need to ease into it once I’m comfortable. I’m a petite girl with silky black fur and big round eyes that will charm you. Let’s meet!

“These are a bunch of really nice, sweet cats.” That’s what they said when we came to TALGV from PACC because they were so overcrowded. We were lucky that there was space for us here, but I must admit going through the intake “rigmarole” at both places really left us a bit confused (you can be certain I’m well vetted though!). At heart, I’m a loving (and vocal!) tabby lady who got along well with all my feline companions (they’ve been adopted, lucky them!), so I hope that my days of not being sure where I’m going to wake up in the morning are behind me because that place will always be with you! (5-2020)

Sweet Pea

If you are wondering how and why I got my name, I’ll be more than happy to fill you in. A caring, concerned lady rescued me from the busy Circle K parking lot and brought me to TALGV. Once here, they immediately noticed what a sweet, friendly and affectionate “momma dog” I am. Thus, I was named “Sweet Pea!” I’m always happy spending time with the volunteers and enjoy going for walks around our neighborhood. We’ll have to wait and see, when we get home, all the things I may already know, or need to learn! I’m an approximately seven-year-old female Lab mix who would like to be introduced to a loving person, who can’t wait to share their home with someone like me…who’s also loving. Wait a minute!!! Why not ME?

I was roaming around outside and became pregnant. Surprise! Somehow the patron saint of expecting mamas smiled down on me and I came to The Animal League. My kittens were born and are now looking for their own homes. (They all take after me with their shiny black coats.) I’m a very friendly girl, rubbing legs and hands that pet me. As young as I am, I like to play and I like to be scratched and brushed. I’m looking for a home where I no longer have to roam and can still be active indoors. As everyone knows, black goes with any outfit. And if you don’t have fur on your clothes, you just aren’t properly dressed! The Animal League volunteers are caring for me and my sister Whirl. By our names, you can tell that we are part of the Wind Litter. We transferred in from another shelter. We gained weight and confidence in foster care. How we thrive on attention! We aren’t necessarily bonded but live in the same room. Hard to tell us apart but I bet you could if you got to know us. I’m making a shameless plea for head rubs and chin scratches. Oh, and throw in some string toys and balls: ok?
