Hi… my name is Scrappy,

Adopted 2-17-23

What does the word “adorable” mean to you? You could look up the meaning, or you could look at my photo. Do you see what I mean? I’m an “adorable” one-year-old female Doxie mix. After we relocated with family, and a large, aggressive dog in the home, my sister Squeaky and I were brought to TALGV. There was concern for our safety, and now we’re both looking for new homes! I’m leash, house, and crate trained. I sleep in my crate all night since it’s also my bedroom. I’m a loving, happy, playful gal who loves getting attention. I am gentle and tolerant with children from ages 2-18. I may have excellent accommodations here, but like my sister says…”there’s no place like home.” If you have the place, I’m ready to go home!

Hi… my name is Squeaky,

Have you ever been asked to describe what the word “adorable” means to you? No! Don’t look it up, just take a peek at my photo! See what I mean? I’m an “adorable” 1-year-old female Doxie mix. My sister Scrappy and I arrived at TALGV together after we relocated with family, and a large, aggressive dog in the home. There was concern for our safety so now we’re both looking for new homes. I’m leash, house, and crate trained. In fact at night my crate becomes my bedroom. I’m a sweet, very affectionate girl who loves to be cuddled. I’m also gentle and tolerant with children ranging from ages 2-18. Between Scrappy and me, you might say I’m the calmer one. My accommodations here are great, but there’s no place like home. Perhaps yours?

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

I am a handsome senior gentleman who longs for my new home. I was brought to The Animal League after my human died and her family could not care for me. I have a life’s worth of experience to share. I appreciate the indoor life. I appreciate being brushed (and I really need that “spa” treatment!). I’ve gained some weight so perhaps a different diet is in store. I was described as bold and outgoing in my previous home, but here I m quiet and shy. Perhaps with your love and attention, I can once again delight in “being in charge.” With Vet Care Support for Life, I am one attractive package! Please come meet me.

Hi… my name is Traveler,

Adopted 2-16-23

Who knows why I was at the I-19 Northbound rest stop, but I have a feeling it wasn’t actually my idea! Thankfully I was dropped off at The Animal League by someone, who  knew staying there wasn’t an option for me. I’m an affectionate young Staffie mix girl. When I first arrived I was very shy and unsure of what to expect. Then I realized that I was not only being fed and sheltered, but I was also being loved. What a magical word… loved! I walk fairly well when not distracted by my sniffing (everything) and traffic noises. You can probably understand why that makes me skittish! Unless I’m keeping secrets about my education, I’ll need to learn the basic commands. I’m still willing to travel, especially if it’s traveling with you to my new forever home!

Hi… my name is Crystal,

Adopted 2-10-23

It is said there are no bad dogs. It is humans who mold us canines into what we become. What have I become? A bashful Chihuahua girl who was found abandoned in The Animal League’s parking lot. My spirit may be bent, but it isn’t broken. At first meeting I may growl or show my teeth, but it’s ONLY because I’m scared. I will require a patient human to make me feel safe and loved. Psst: I have a soft spot for soft toys, and when a persistent volunteer made one wiggle and squeak for me, I wagged my tail in appreciation. I am also good at gently taking treats from your hand, and, if you don’t rush me, I will let you pet me. Not on the first date, though; I’m not that kind of girl!
