Have you ever felt like the new kid in school? Everyone’s a stranger, routines, noises and even my bed and food bowls are different. I was nervous when I arrived and quite shy with everyone. My prior life was with a family for six months, but their other dog and I started to not get along. They felt I’d be a better fit with a different family, one I could find with the help of my TALGV friends. So here I am. Thankfully, the volunteers are allowing me the time to show them who I am (besides being a beautiful one-year-old, 40-pound shepherd mix). So far? I like toys, playing fetch and going on walks with my volunteer friends. Maybe you and I can be friends, too. Let’s meet and find out!

Mom could no longer care for me or my sister, so we were brought to The Animal League. Mom said I was shy, and I’m living up to that. In fact, I don’t often come out of my soft cubby. I’m sure the volunteers mean well but really, I just want to be left alone. I do now allow myself to be touched with a wand without hissing too much. I’m hoping someone can take me away from this (admittedly nice) place so that I can spend my days in peace and quiet. Can you please help? Originally, I was brought to The Animal League by a nice woman who saw me wandering in her neighborhood. Soon I was adopted, but unfortunately I was returned for being too rambunctious. Here I am again awaiting a home where humans can appreciate my very cat-like personality! I love to eat, play, and sleep. I appreciate cuddling on a lap (for a while.) I will purr my appreciation when you scratch my ears and chin. I like to curl up in a cubby for privacy, but I prefer human attention and lots of it. I am one handsome lad with distinctive markings. So, if you want the all-around Mr. Feline, I’m yours! Please come meet me!

I’m a peppy Pug boy that’s a bit of a flirt, so I’m not sure how I ended up alone in the Circle K parking lot. I enjoy playing with people and toys, but I REALLY love treats! In fact, I get so excited for yummies that I’ve been told my exuberance can cause me to forget there are fingers wrapped around them. Volunteers here use a dainty toss, but with your loving guidance, I’m sure I’ll learn the art of dainty acceptance. I also love going for walks, and I must say this: that’s NOT pudge on my physique—it’s muscle! What do you say, do you need a walking buddy? Good. Because maybe I could stand to lose some, um, “muscle.” What’s that? You need a toy-chasing, cuddle buddy? Well then…sign me UP!
