Athena

I’m one half of a bonded couple; the other half is Boomer. When we first arrived at TALGV, we were rather shy. Once we got to know the friendly volunteers, we both relaxed and started to enjoy their attention and hospitality. Boomer and I have a lot in common. I, too, am very calm and loving, and I especially enjoy going for walks with my (as he puts it) soulmate. I know what “sit” and “come” means, and I also learned a new lesson, how to use the doggie door. Along with our humans, including visiting teens, we shared our home with the feline member of the family. A box of chocolates may be sweet, but by adopting two Chocolate Labs you’ll still get all that sweetness…no calories, just love.

Boomer

I’m one half of a bonded couple, the other being Athena, my soulmate. We were brought to TALGV by our “dad” because he will be moving and can no longer care for us. I’m very affectionate and calm, love going for walks (leash trained), and understand the meaning of the words “sit” and “come.” I even impressed the volunteers by demonstrating my “praying” pose. Along with Athena, I shared our home with a member of the feline persuasion and entertained teens who came to visit. I’m quite the gentleman in the house when we’re left alone, and I’ve recently learned how to use the doggie door. You remember the line “Life is just a box of chocolates?” Here’s my interpretation: “Life is just a couple of CHOCOLATE…LABS!” If you like anything chocolate, you’ll really love us!

When asked if there were anyone or thing I didn’t like, my rescuer said no, I’m a sweet guy who loves to sleep on your bed and to have my ears scratched. However, I didn’t get along with another cat in the house and it really stressed me out. The volunteers can confirm that I adore belly rubs (and flop upside down for them!), like to play with toys, (feathers are my favorite), sit in your lap and purr, and they say that once I get to know you, I’ll be your best friend. But wait – there’s more! I have a handsome, solid white coat and topaz eyes, so there’s that enticement, too!

Archie

Archie is a gentle and affectionate 6-year-old, 60-pound Boxer/Staffie mix male who needs a new home. He is neutered, shots are up to date and he is in good health. He loves people, including children of all ages, but he dislikes other dogs, and cats are unknown. Archie is housebroken, and he is crate, leash and obedience trained (knows sit, stay and heel). He is reliable to leave in the house for more than 12 hours. He enjoys walking and loves to run and play fetch the ball. There is no adoption fee for this special boy. After following a gentleman most of the way home, I jumped into his car, and we searched for anyone who might know me. After three days he decided TALGV may have better luck. I’m a female Rottweiler mix, approximately 2 years old, and I’m looking forward to meeting you! Since I was found, there is little known about me, but volunteers say I’m very affectionate, can use a doggy door, sit when told, and probably know even more. It seems I do understand the word “walk,” and even though I’m excited to go, I settle down quickly. In other words…I walk very well! I’m on my second roommate because my first, I’m happy to say, was adopted. Now I’m just waiting for YOU to offer ME a forever home with YOU. My answer? YES!!!
