Hi! My name is Sweetie, and I think my name fits my personality. I didn’t have an auspicious beginning: I was found in a trashcan with my kittens! The nice lady who rescued us couldn’t keep us. Now that the kittens have moved on to new homes, I’m ready for my own new home. I like kids, and am playful and curious (like most cats). However, I need to be your only pet because I don’t like other cats. I will sit on your lap and roll over to be scratched. I have a beautiful gray and brown coat. Won’t you come meet me?

I’ve recently been a visitor at TALGV, but due to all the twists and turns in life, I’m now a resident, at least until I find my new home. I’m an energetic, playful, 4-year-old Akita mix, who sees the world through two different colored eyes. Many people consider this “undeniably beautiful.” I’m strong and somewhat athletic (can easily leap over a 4’ fence). I need some help with my leash training, and if you’re patient with me, I’ll respond to the “sit” command. I’ve enjoyed being around children and other dogs, but NEVER cats! I behave in a car and love going for rides. My name is of Hebrew origin and means “morning light.” Please, just look me in the eye and consider how THIS “morning light” could brighten your home and life.

Although I didn’t get along with dogs in a previous home, I’m pretty easy-going. My curiosity sometimes gets me into trouble, like when I chew on plastic. I arrived here at The Animal League with other cats and my kittens, all of us looking for better homes. I have a sleek black coat with a little white on my belly, and yellow-green eyes. I’ve been hanging out on the higher perches of the cat tree here and using its scratching post. I love to play and have learned how nice it is to be petted and brushed. I prefer to have my human’s undivided attention—I don’t like to share it with other cats. I think I’m ready for a new home and would love to meet you soon!
