Think warm sunshine and sandy beaches. That’s Aruba the Island. I’m Aruba the Beautiful. I have lovely torbie markings and a medium-length coat. Perhaps I’m named Aruba because I was found with my three babies as strays in the sand near a playground. We were brought into TALGV to receive their special brand of care. And so we have! My babies are all finding their own homes, and I’m waiting patiently for my forever home. Currently I’m shy and quiet, preferring my own cubby. However, when volunteers come in, they talk with me sweetly and I purr when they pet me. How perfect my life would be if you’d take me home to be yours!

After a short stay at TALGV I moved into foster care, and it’s just what I need… caring people to teach me the basics of living in a home. I know the commands “wait” and “sit” and love going for long walks (as an individual or in a pack). I’m currently sharing the home with the two resident dogs. It seems I may be a bit of a toy hog, but I remain a true gentleman. I’m well behaved, enjoy the company of people, and I’ve been loving towards my foster’s granddaughter. I’m still working on my greeting skills, but I’m never aggressive or prone to jump. My foster mom says I’m a “joy” to have in their home. I could be the joy in yours!

I’ve gotta give my people credit. They had me for six years until I began fighting with my male housemate. They relinquished me to TALGV, but soon missed me so much they reclaimed me, hoping things would work out. As you can guess, things didn’t change, so now I’m dreaming of a “one cat” home (namely ME!). Mom says although I’m not the most demonstrative guy (maybe that’s because as a youngster I was dumped in a parking lot, so haven’t quite forgotten that experience), I like being with you on my terms, lying near you on a couch or bed. If you’re willing to give this handsome guy a try, I sure will give it my all!

It was a couple of days before Thanksgiving, when my canine traveling companion and I were trying to decide which direction to take. A kind fellow traveler stopped and offered to give us a ride. We accepted his generous offer, and because he had no idea where we were headed either, the decision was made to bring us to TALGV. I’m a friendly, handsome, male Staffie mix, who’s definitely giving thanks for being here, and I’m already looking forward to meeting YOU! I can use a doggie door, and one of my handlers mentioned I’m an “easy” walker. Even though my past education is unknown, if you’re willing to be patient and work with me, I could be that loving pal you’ve always wanted. Now, I’m ready to go home! Please, come and get me today.

I’m a handsome, affectionate, and energetic boy who’s crate and leash trained. My foster dad wants to add sweet, cuddly, and adorable, because I love to curl up on the couch with my people (even on the lap, if allowed). I enjoy playing and going for walks, but I need a strong handler. I’m house trained and ask to go out, and even though I already know the basic commands like “sit,” and “leave it,” etc., I’m also willing and smart enough to learn more. I’m a dog who absolutely loves people, but my feelings do NOT extend to other dogs. I definitely need to be your one and only pet.
