Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

Losing your best friend can be traumatic for people AND cats! After my dad died, mom moved to a place that didn’t allow pets, so it’s taking me time to adjust to my new circumstances. Mom said that I like to be around people and have “the best personality I’ve ever seen in a cat – so gentle and tolerant.” She said I sleep a lot during the day (that’s a cat thing!), but play with toys at night, love to get into cabinet spaces (I can open them by myself!), and just BE with you! I’m a 13-year-old, declawed lady (with free vet care) who promises to bring that wonderful “extra-special something” to your life!

Hi… my name is Chico,

Adopted 12-16-18

I’m a very shy guy and when you know my story, I think you’ll understand why. After my person was forced to leave, the three other dogs I’d lived with all moved away and I was alone, living under a trailer. Life was scary and strange. Then kind women came into my life, feeding me, and eventually trapping me to come here. I wish I’d calmly walked with them, but I haven’t learned how to do that yet. Fortunately, even when terrified, I’ve never been aggressive, and so people have been sweetly willing to help me—petting me as I sleep, encouraging me to eat, using “shy dog protocol” to help me learn all’s well here. If you’re a patient, loving person, perhaps you could make me feel safe. And maybe, someday, even happy!

Hi… my name is Mason (aka Marty),

Adopted 3-29-20

Has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate.

Back when I was a really young pup, my person said she couldn’t socialize me because it was too hot for walks. Granted, some Arizona days are best spent somewhere cool, but we all need socialization, right? So, being here has helped me a lot. I’ve attended class with people and other dogs, and have impressed friends with my good behavior there. Oh, I’m still young, strong, and learning, but already walk nicely on a leash, obey basic commands, have been gentle taking treats, and can be very active at times, calm at others. (In my former home, I was also housetrained and used a doggie door.) Training, patience and love equal a winning combination so far, and if you let me be your loyal companion, we could share lots of happy trails together!

BREE is a beautiful, energetic, and affectionate, 5-year-old, 60-pound hound mix that was adopted as a puppy, but he needs a new home as owner’s new job will not allow time for his care. Bree is neutered and shots are up to date; he has recently been diagnosed with Valley Fever, but with ongoing treatment there is no physical evidence of it (medical records available). He loves people, is obedience trained, and usually has excellent manners (knows sit, stay, shake, come, lay down). He is housebroken and asks to go out; he would be best as an only dog (no cats, please), walks well on leash, and loves to run. He is good with children of all ages.

There is no adoption fee for this special guy. If you would welcome Bree into a loving home as part of your family, please call Nate between 1 and 8 PM at 619-381-2790.

Van

Hi… my name is Van,

Adopted 7-23-18

Life just isn’t fair! I arrived at TALGV just when what seemed like a whole truckload of fluffy, adorable, nothing-cuter-than-kittens arrived, and being just a smidge older (and black to boot!), everyone was oohing and aahing over THEM and overlooked ME! Well, I’m here to say that they missed out on one sweet, mega-purr boy, but you’ve still got your chance! I was found in the desert fending for myself, but hoping to find a Good Samaritan to save me. It worked then, and I’m hopeful it’ll work now, so just a few minutes with me (and my friend in the same boat, Moony) will convince you that teenagers are “where it’s at!”

Hi… my name is Luchen,

Adopted with Delia 8-5-18

You know how humans describe body types as “apple” or “pear” shaped? Well my housemates, Celine, Delia, and I might be described as “footballs!” That’s not to say that we’re MEANT to be that way, it’s just what happens when you get too much food and too little exercise! Our mom left us (and four dogs!) with HER mom when she moved, and since she already had five rescues, well, you can imagine it was a smidge crowded! But our home was a happy one, and we got along with everyone – especially people – so I’m hopeful that my rumbly purr and furry rubs will convince you that there’s just more of this Manx boy to love!
