Hi… my name is Pickles,

Adopted  4-8-21

I’m so happy to be here with my best friend Dottie. We, just the two of us girls, are so lucky to share a room. I’m a little older than Dottie, but at 1 ½ years I’m still a shepherd-mix pup. At first neither of us knew what to expect. Imagine the pleasant surprise we had when we met our new friends and realized our lives were about to change for the better. Besides all of the good food and loving attention we’re receiving, we’re also getting what they call “leash trained” so we can leave our room and actually go for a walk. Your first move, a friendly introduction, will open the door to our mutual affection. Now that I have mentioned “move,” I think your next move, to my forever home, also starts with you.

Hi… my name is Dottie,

After being rescued from a home with 45 dogs, I was brought to TALGV. When I first arrived I had a roommate, but now I have my own room. I like other dogs but sometimes I may be a bit exuberant with new canine friends. I’m still a young pup who needs more training, preferably with you! I have already learned how to walk on a leash and use a doggie door. What I really need now is a loving person in a stable home to help me transition from puppyhood to adulthood. I’m discovering how it feels to receive affection (and I like it), and I want to learn what it’s like to be part of a real family. If you believe you can offer me that, please call and make an appointment to meet.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Zorro (aka Sweet Kitty),

Adopted 11-30-21

When I arrived, everyone wondered how in the world I got the nickname “Sweet Kitty” ‘cause I was anything but! It takes cats time to adjust to life’s upheavals, but some more than others. Happily, one of the wonderful coordinators took me on as her “special project,” and aren’t I glad she did, because I’m now enjoying belly and head rubs, and the company of new humans more each day. I have a common condition called arthritis (you bipeds know about that!), and my mom gave me glucosamine, which helped. I’m a big guy (that doesn’t help the arthritis, so maybe a diet is in store?) who’d love to live up to my alias with you!

Hi… my name is Sherman,

Adopted 3-22-21

Just enter my room and I will roll over and show you my belly. Not impressed yet? I’m certain I can learn more; I’m a Terrier after all, and you may discover my breed is intelligent, tenacious, and proud. I’m crate trained, ask to go out or can use a doggie door. I get along with children and other dogs, but absolutely dislike cats. I’m also feisty and maybe at times, a little stubborn. Naturally I’m sweet, affectionate and very loving and not to brag, adorable. What are my faults, you ask? I jumped a fence and ran away. You could say I need supervision while outside and a safe enclosed yard. Of course, with all the loving attention you’ll give me, I won’t have an excuse to leave. Take me home and see!

Hi… my name is Ruger,

Adopted 3-27-21

I am a smallish shepherd mix with a beautiful dark coat and, they say, almost impeccable manners. I have a few quirks, of course, like wanting to dig under fences so I can go exploring, but I am kennel-trained and respond well to sit, heel, down, and stay. I’ve gotten along great with kids and been gentle with them, even the really little ones. They say I get along with most dogs—as long as they don’t try to take away my bones, that is. But who would like that, right? Cats are okay, too (they don’t want my bones!). I am only 18 months old so I still have lots of energy and would like to live with someone who has a big place or who will take me places where I can run.
