Hi… my name is Cheetah,

Adopted 5-18-18

My siblings and I were abandoned as babies, along with Mom, and left to the mercy of the elements. A neighbor fed us over the fence around our small space until the lucky day when we were rescued. Having had little human contact, we were terribly shy at first and huddled together, especially protective of our littlest brother, who’s a bit more delicate than the rest of us. But now, with food, water, and human kindness in constant supply, we’re developing a fondness for people, and hope to increase our confidence. Plus, playing with toys, going outside, wrestling with each other—it’s all coming so easily now. I’m Cheetah, the only girl, 15 pounds at 3 months and growing. If you’re patient and understanding, could we possibly love each other? Let’s meet and find out!

Hi… my name is Mader,

Adopted 10-14-18

Mader has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

When I was lost, I had one big advantage: I wasn’t alone. There were three of us—two other dogs and I were found near the interstate. When we arrived here, being together gave each of us the added confidence needed to meet new people, and that’s sure been worth it. My new friends have shown me that people can be as much fun as dogs! I’m a Lab/Staffie mix male, mainly black with touches of white, and about 57 pounds. As a 1-year-old, I’m looking forward to lots of fun, happy times, and I bet you can teach me how to be the best dog I can be. Here’s hoping we can start real soon, because I’ve learned that being with someone makes every journey better, especially the one that takes us home.

Hi… my name is Foxy,

Adopted by The Humane Society 11-25-18

When I was lost, I had one big advantage: I wasn’t alone. There were three of us—a male dog, another female and I were found near the interstate. Now, being together here has been helpful, too, because it’s given each of us the added confidence needed to meet new people. Happily, I’ve been the friendliest of our little trio and it’s sure been worth it! My new friends have shown me that people can be as much fun as dogs! A nice size at 47 pounds, I’m a 2-year-old Lab/Staffie mix female, black with touches of white, a couple of almost-hidden scars from the past, and, best of all, an eagerness to get to know you because I’ve learned that being with someone makes every journey better, especially the one that takes us home.

Hi… my name is Bailey,

Adopted 7-30-18

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

Even though I’m 9 years old, I’m sure some of my happiest trails are still ahead of me. Here’s one way I know: I recently had great fun with a family including five children (age 10 and older). We played fetch, the kids liked it when I’d sit, stay and come on their say-so, and I loved it when they kept saying, “Bailey is awesome!” At 75 pounds, I’ve been called a shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix, but you can just call me a big loveable guy. I need a new home because my person became seriously ill and couldn’t keep me. I hope it helps that I come with Free Vet Care for Life, and I also come ready to relax, have fun, and be your faithful companion. Will you give me that chance?

Hi… my name is Stumpy,

Adopted 5-20-18

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

Yep, you’re right – I got my name because I don’t have a tail! They’re not sure whether I’m part Manx or not, but no matter what’s “going on” in my genes, you’ll find that I’m one very sweet, loving, and affectionate gentleman (after I get over my initial shyness). Despite my “advanced” age, mom said I still love playing with toys and string thingies, and adored spending my evenings on her lap watching TV and sleeping with her. She moved to Germany and couldn’t take my friend, Dixie, and me with her, so we’re here hoping we can stay together in new digs (although I guess we’d fare pretty well on our own, too). I’m a 14-year-old (with free vet care) who’d like to brighten your life one day at a time!

Hi… my name is Kidd (aka Kitty),

Adopted 4-29-18

I’ll let my mom toot my horn: “He’s all you’d want in a companion – laid back, playful, kittenlike, and independent – all as the mood strikes. He loves to play fetch with his toys (he’s better at it than most dogs!), likes to follow me around, isn’t much of a meower, likes to sleep on my arm at night, and is a loving lap kitty who’s pretty quiet most of the time.” When she had to move into a friend’s apartment, it was a place that I wasn’t allowed to go, and although she was very sad to lose me, she knew that all my delightful qualities would guarantee another human falling in love. I’m only 2½ years old and have a wonderful feline-type surprise in store for you!

Hi… my name is Sparky Boy (aka Lucky Boy),

Adopted 5-5-18

Sparky Boy has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

If you’re looking for a tough, demanding dog, as the song says, “it ain’t me, babe.” I’m the easygoing, let’s-be-friends-and-have-fun kind of guy. Even the dad who returned me said I was “really mellow most of the time.” But, after six months together, I was lying down and a 2-year-old child ‘got in my face.’ When I told her in dog language not to do that, her dad objected and brought me back to TALGV. That’s okay. I am mellow, and know that my perfect family will find me here. (They’ll be glad to know that on my intake exam, even when they took my temperature, I just relaxed and grinned.) I’m a black and white Staffie mix male, 63 pounds, very popular here at TALGV, but wanting only to be loved by you.
