Hi… my name is Jake,

Adopted 8-18-18

When the volunteers say, “It’s MIND BOGGLING why Jake is still here! He’s one of the most outgoing friendly cats we’ve ever seen. He likes people, is really good and bonds with other cats, and loves brushing, petting, and laps.” Whoa! Now THAT’S a ringing endorsement! My dad “absconded” and left my housemates and me behind, and once you meet me, you’ll wonder what on earth ever possessed him! And of course having lived with other felines, I’m pretty adaptable, so I’d be perfect for an active family with kids (maybe even one with a nice calm dog), and if feline entertainment and companionship are on your “bucket list,” I’ll help check that one off!

Hi… my name is Lilo,

Adopted 9-23-17

For someone who recently gave birth to 11 puppies—yes, 11 babies in one litter!—I’m now delightfully close to feeling carefree. My human family found homes for eight of my puppies, but they were moving and couldn’t keep the rest of us, so, thank goodness, there was room for us here. We arrived hungry and I was very thin, but we soon thrived on our “three squares.” At 42 pounds, I’m now svelte in a good way—a nice size for a 2-year-old female (whose “mama days” will soon be behind her). In the past, I played well with 14- and 15-year-old kids, and here at TALGV, I’m a sweet dog to my new friends, good on a leash, and eager to find someone to love forever. Will you please be my someone?

Hi… my name is Blackberry,

Adopted 11-24-17

You know cat carriers aren’t the most comfortable places to spend much time for ONE full-grown cat let alone three! But that’s what happened with my friends, Grayson, Marmalade, and me! The cat volunteers found us that way one morning and I can’t BEGIN to tell you how happy we all were to be released! In addition to the cramped quarters, our lovely fur was matted to the skin, so a good grooming just added to the joy of freedom! It’s hard to believe we were abandoned, as all of us are totally delightful, outgoing, people-loving boys who will spend the rest of our lives making YOURS a joy! I’m a 5-year-old black (surprise!) boy with so much love to give it’ll just take your breath away!

Hi… my name is Luke,

Luke comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

If you’ve ever wondered why people love their Labs so much, my buddy Bo and I will be happy to show you. (If you already know lovable Labs, that’s even better!) We’re friendly, intelligent, eager to please, trusting and loyal companions. As for me in particular, at age 13, I truly enjoy the good life—daily exercise, play time, nap time, and someone to share it all with. Plus, I have Free Vet Care for Life! For years, I lived with Bo, a yellow Lab, (together except when eating), and Dad was very sad to leave us, but his new home already has as many dogs as allowed. So here I am—a calm, sweet, 62-pound black Lab male, ready to be your partner in the good life if you just say the word.

Hi… my name is Sandy,

Adopted 9-23-17

I recently gave birth to three adorable puppies, each of whom now has their own home. I was a good mother, protective and nurturing, but it was my second litter in a very short time and so I’m relieved to know it was also my last. Indeed, when I was pregnant, because the other dogs in the house irritated me, I had to live outside until coming here. On the other hand, my family said I was gentle and tolerant with the children (ages 3, 7, 8 and 12). And although I haven’t had the benefit of training, I walk well on a leash and once comfortable with you, I’m your happy little companion. Won’t you please give me—a 2-year-old, 15-pound, black Chihuahua mix female—the chance to make you smile every day.

Hi… my name is Curtis,

Adopted 9-24-17

One hot August day, I was running down I-19, lost and very much in need of a safe place and some water. Then something wonderful happened. A gentleman stopped and rescued me from that dangerous situation. He brought me here, where the volunteers immediately said I’m what they call “a very nice dog.” (They didn’t mind at all when I immediately put my hot paws in a bucket of cool water.) Oh, I’m still playful—just 2 years old, so I’m lively and energetic, but also mature enough to sometimes just settle and enjoy the relaxing company of my person. I’m a 59-pound Shepherd mix male, handsome with interesting ears, and I’m lucky to be here. I’ll be even luckier, and forever happier, if I get to go one more place—home with you.

Hi… my name is Boogie Woogie,

Adopted 9-16-17

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

When someone names you Boogie Woogie, you can expect to have fun. And did we ever! My person and I were together 15 happy years, so when he died, I was lonely. But I remember the important lessons he taught me, including how simple things can make every day a good day. Like walks. I love my daily walks—the exercise, fresh air, time shared with a friendly person. (I’m good on a leash, too.) I’m a Jack Russell Terrier female, 14 pounds, and now 16 years old so I don’t hear as well as I used to and I sleep a lot. But I’m still great company, especially for people who also enjoy the simple life. If that’s you, we should get together and make every day a good day for us!
