Hi… my name is Big Kitty,

Adopted with Lilly 8-12-17

Maybe someone was being cute when they named me Big Kitty (I’m 10 pounds) and my housemate, Little Kitty (she’s 14 pounds!), but I’ve learned that humans have a weird sense of humor sometimes! After my mom became ill, her friend cared for me for a while, but she had health issues too, so TALGV got to be my temporary home (and nice as it is, I hope it won’t be for too long!). I’m a shy, quiet 6½-year-old lady who has a rather unusual trait – I much prefer to use a human toilet to my litterbox, so for those of you who’d rather not have to deal with cleaning them, I’d be the ideal housemate (but you should probably have one anyway, just in case!).

Adopted 5-18-17

SHAY is a mild-mannered, energetic 2-year-old, 60-pound black Flat-Coated Retriever mix girl that needs a new loving home because family broke up recently. She is housebroken and asks to go out, is spayed and up to date on her shots (medical records are available). Shay likes older children; other dogs and cats are not recommended. She is social with everyone, enjoys being with her people, gentle on leash, rarely barks, and loves water. She has used a doggy door and will “sit” and “down” on command. Shay is a house dog who loves her daily walks of about 2 miles as well as playing fetch at least twice a day for about 15 minutes. There is no adoption fee. To arrange a meeting with this special dog, please call Elisa weekdays after 6 PM and weekends after 12 PM at 520-647-4447.

Hi… my name is Giblet,

Adopted 6-20-17

Giblet has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

People say I’m very smart, which is why I understand that at 99 pounds, I’m not everyone’s idea of a lap dog. (Unless you say it’s okay, in which case I’m great with it!) I am designed to be a super companion. With my former family, I was gentle and tolerant with the kids (ages 4 and 18), got along with the dog and cat, and was “sweet with everyone.” Unfortunately, they don’t have time for me now, and alone in the back yard, I talked to (barked at) the neighbors. So, if you do have time for an energetic, playful guy like me—a 2-1/2-year-old who already knows commands like sit, stay, easy, down, and more—I’m ready and able to share big fun, adventures, and a lifetime of happy days with you!

Hi… my name is Dunphy,

Adopted 7-31-17

You can “bet the house” as they say in racetrack parlance that I belonged to someone and was well loved once (I hadn’t been neutered yet though, but that’s been taken care of)! When they did all that intake “stuff” after I arrived, the volunteers said that I just “melted right into them” and didn’t make a peep! It was so nice having attention that I didn’t even mind the prodding and poking! Since I’m a bit of a vagabond, they don’t really know my age, but they’re guessing about 18 months, so if you do the math, that means I’m still pretty much a youngster and am going to be around for a long time making you happy!

Hi… my name is Chloe,

Adopted 7-3-17

“She likes to lick, so I call her 80-grit! She’s wonderful, sweet, posh, and sophisticated loves to snuggle, get belly rubs, and burrow and lounge next to you. She’s clean and even “grooms” her feather toy! With all those sterling qualities, you might wonder why my mom had to give me up. Well, her situation changed and she had to move back east to be with her family and, as often happens, cats weren’t allowed. You can bet there were many tears shed when she relinquished me, but she knew that TALGV would do its best to make sure I found another someone who appreciated me for my loving ways. At a smidge over 2 years old, just think of all the joy we can share!

Hi… my name is Lacey,

Adopted 7-8-17

Before coming here, I was fed by a stranger. Even then, I kept my distance, but needed the nourishment because my 6 puppies were depending on me. That kind man found homes for my babies, but worried about me because he was leaving for many months. Who would feed me? How would I stay safe? TALGV was the answer. Food, security, comfort—such a comfy bed!—and patient people are here for me. They let me take my time getting used to a leash and going for walks; I found it easy to grow accustomed to their gentle affection. In my own way, I thank them, and they seem to know what I dream about most: A home of my own, where love and happiness abide, and wonderful people let me love them forever.
