Hi… my name is Blackie.

I was adopted on August 21, 2014.
After my dad had a stroke a while back, he found that he just wasn’t able to care for me any longer. It was super hard for him to make the decision to bring me here as he rescued me in Mexico three years ago and we have been best buddies since (he said, “A very lucky person will get this dog because he likes any human who shows an interest in him!”). I’m a little on the skinny side right now (even though I eat well) as I have tick fever, but I’m now getting medicine for that and should be fine in no time. I’m a lanky Doberman/shepherd mix boy who is well mannered in the house and on a leash. I get along great with everyone, so why not you?

Hi… my name is Lucky.

Lucky has earned her Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Adopted July 10, 2015

My dad found me under a car when I was a puppy and kept me for four years, but recently when one of his other dogs started picking on me, he decided that I needed to find a “friendlier” home. Although I lived outside most of my life, I was allowed in the house occasionally (where I got along great with the kids but NOT the cats!), so it would be wonderful if I could find a home with a family that wanted me to be a bigger part of their lives. I’m a 42-pound shepherd mix girl, and although I may be a little reserved at the moment (things have changed awfully fast in my life!), I know that with love and patience, the “real me” will come shining through.

Arrived June 20, 2014.

Hi… my name is Princess.

I was adopted July 25, 2014.

You know when you meet me and I immediately roll over on my back to get belly rubs that I’m going to be one sweet and loving companion! A lady from Green Valley saw me pushed from a car in near I-19 in Tucson, and happily for me, she stopped, scooped me up, and brought me here. Whew! Without her that could have been a REALLY bad outcome for me! As a waif, there’s not too much I can tell you about my former life, but suffice it to say I’m outgoing and ever so eager to find a safe, lively home. I’m a young and a charming, 31-pound black Lab “in a smaller package” who promises to be the Velcro dog of your dreams. Just give me a chance!

Hi… my name is Treasure.

Adopted January 12, 2015.

When I was found in the desert in June, I was too young to stay at TALGV since I needed round-the-clock care. Turns out that that was a good thing though as I got lots of attention, socialization, and love by humans, which now translates into a sweet, outgoing, and affectionate kitten (I’m aptly named if I do say so myself!). I’m a black shorthaired little sprite and since I’ve been living with a host of other kittens, I’m sure I’ll get along in any busy home (it would be nice to be able to go to one with one of my friends here — we’re “2 for 1” right now!). So why not take advantage of my sparkling personality (and a good deal!) and make me yours?

Hi… my name is Elliot.

Adopted October 18, 2014.

When my biographer asked one of the volunteers about my personality (since I was found on the streets of Nogales, my “history is a mystery” as they say!), she said, “Oh, Elliot’s a hoot”!  Well I’ll try to live up to that by being the most endearing, entertaining, into-everything, lap sitting, purr-in-your-ear companion you’ve ever dreamed of! They think I’m in the neighborhood of 12-18 months old so all the good things you love about kittens are still “going on” — just without the crazy stuff the really young ones are into. I’m a handsome, lanky, solid black guy (except for one white spot on my chest) and I’m longing to spend the rest of my life in the safety of a home where I can do “my thing” with you.

Hi… my name is Thumper.

I was adopted July 27, 2014.

When your dad works for the Border Patrol, I guess you have to be prepared to move around a bit. Well, I was ready to go, but unfortunately, the place where dad was transferred didn’t allow pets, so he very sadly had to give me up. He said, “Thumper is a great dog, well behaved, smart, and loving, and I would have taken him with me in a heartbeat if I’d been able.” I know LOTS of commands — sit, stay, shake, speak, kennel (or “house”) — am perfectly house and leash trained (and have good “recall” even off leash), so you know I come with lots of super “bona fides.” I’m a young Rottie/shepherd mix boy who just wants another person (or an active family) to shower my affection on.

Hi… my name is Coal.

Adopted December 29, 2014.

When my family took off for Wisconsin, they left a lot of cats behind, and I (with my two babies) was one of them. Happily, I got to live with a foster mom while I raised them, and did she ever take care of US! I’ll let her tell you how she felt: “These cats are the most agreeable, well-adjusted, other-pet-friendly cats I’ve had the pleasure to foster. Coal is very sweet and the ‘mother of all mothers,’ is tolerant with big dogs, and loves people.” I’m a striking, golden-eyed, solid black lady (in every sense of the word), who is yearning for a stable, loving home where I can be feel at ease again. If you can provide that, you’d make me (and my foster mom) ever so happy!

Hi… my name is Ballet.

I was adopted on August 20, 2014.
Think June in Arizona. Think a closed-up trailer in June in Arizona. Think a closed-up trailer in June in Arizona with no food and water. Not pretty, is it? Well, that’s where the owner of the trailer found my extended family (including a passel of kittens!) and me after the renters moved out. I can’t tell you how happy we all were to get out of there and into TALGV where it’s cool and there’s all the food and water we want. It may take a while for all of us to recover from that experience, but when we do, we’ll be the most grateful felines on the planet! I’m a longhaired glossy black lady, and I know that a lot of purrs, rubs, and kisses will come your way when you take me home!

Hi… my name is Lyric.

Adopted November 22, 2014.

I was born on April 23, 2013, so unlike a lot of pets whose origins are a mystery, you’ll know exactly when to celebrate my birthday each year! The family I lived with for nine months said, “Lyric is a very good and smart dog who craves attention. She loves kids very much and gives kisses like no other.” My only “problem” was that I was too rough with their older female dog (at my age, I’m still into romping!), but I’m getting along with my “roomies” here just fine! I’d love to find an active family that wants a devoted companion to join in the fun. I’m a striking, lanky, black shepherd mix girl who, with patient training and love, is going to turn in to one statuesque and well-behaved beauty!

Arrived June 6, 2014.

Hi… my name is Tango.

Adopted September 27, 2014.

It was only after I arrived with my littermates (the “dance” kittens!), when things started looking up for me in life! We were all part of a passel of animals that came in from TALGV’s Outreach program and had been living outside all our lives. Well, now that I’m safe here and getting to know humans, I’ve got a lot brighter outlook on the world (and humans) and am eager to find my very own special place in the world. I’m a darling young, longhaired, solid black boy whose memory of the great outdoors wants to remain just that  — a memory! Just give me a chance to prove how loving and appreciative a rescue kitten can be – your life will be the better for it!
