Animal League News

Hi… my name is Everest,

Adopted with Big Apple 8-1-22

I arrived here at The Animal League with other cats and my kittens, all of us looking for better homes. I have a sleek black coat with a little white on my belly, and yellow-green eyes. I’ve been hanging out on the higher perches of the cat tree here and using its scratching post. I love to play and have learned how nice it is to be petted and brushed. I prefer to have my human’s undivided attention—I don’t like to share it with other cats. I think I’m ready for a new home and would love to meet you soon!

Hi… my name is Sancho,

RAINBOW BRIDGE 2-28-25

First of all, you may like to know that since I’ve been at TALGV for a while, I come with Vet Care Support for Life! Next, you’d probably guess by looking at me that I’m an athletic dog. And you’d be right! Energetic play, running and chasing toys are some of my strengths and joys. (I like the nap afterwards, too.) On the other hand, you may be surprised to know that I’m often a very affectionate guy. Granted, I choose my friends care-fully and do not give my heart to everyone. If it turns out you and I are good together, I’d love to show you the commands I know and even share a game of fetch. Every day I hope someone sees me as their own fun-loving, affectionate, and loyal companion. Could my someone be you?

Hi… my name is Harvest,

Adopted 7-13-22

My pups are grown and have left the nest for their forever homes. I came to TALGV just before Thanksgiving with my five puppies and was I ever glad to be here: food, nice people, and a safe place for all of us to sleep! I hadn’t spent much time with humans before coming here, but I am making friends now. They say that I was a very good Mom, concerned but letting the humans handle my babies. I like a bit of cuddling myself, actually. And I am now ready to run and play, preferably with a doggie brother or sister, and a human family of my own – but females only, please. If you are looking for a gentle soul to take into your home, won’t you come to see me?

Hi… my name is Loki,

Adopted with bonded companion Aela 9-29-22

Military life was great, up until our family received travel orders to Alaska. I’m a friendly, gentle, and affectionate Shiba Inu mix boy, who loves to hug people. Before my arrival here, I lived with my best friend (Aela), cats, and a seven year old human. Since Aela and I can’t go with them, we’re in the market for our new  home(s). I’m house and crate trained, “sit,” and ask to go out. I may not be leash trained, but according to one of the volunteers, I’m a VERY good boy who listens well, and doesn’t pull while walking. I’m usually relaxed but I can get nervous during thunderstorms and when left alone. Since Aela and I shared our previous home and are bonded, we are adoptable together.

Luz

Hi… my name is Luz,

Adopted 5-10-22

Seen outside her house wandering about, I was scooped up by a kind lady who took me inside her home. There I lived with her and her dog for a few days before she brought me here. She said that at times I was quiet and laid back (as I am here at TALGV). At other times I was bold and outgoing (probably when I knew my surroundings and person.) She said I displayed perfect manners. Sad that she couldn’t keep me, but I’m resilient and am already looking forward to meeting my new human to love. Will that be you? I hope so! Not much is known about my past, but my future looks bright.  Will you make it so by adopting me?

Hi… my name is Duster,

Adopted9-2-22

How’s this for a life story? I was one of twelve kittens shared by two mama cats. When we all were brought to TALGV five years ago, we were given names of automobiles. That’s how I became Duster. However, upon my adoption as a kitten, I was called Charlie. As they say, I don’t care what you call me, just call me for mealtimes! (I like both canned and dry cat food.) I lived with adults so don’t know how I’d get along with children. I prefer sleeping on my cat tree or under your bed. I’m a handsome guy with a distinguished black nose/chin goatee who would love to have a new home…. perhaps with you?

Hi… my name is Dante,

Adopted 6-27-22

Sometimes you want just one person to love. My first mom and I came from Germany, but her health declined and she moved in with relatives to care for her. I soon found a new home, but when I began stalking the resident cat and pouncing on my new mom’s feet at night, she decided to rehome me. I went to live with a couple, but much preferred my new dad. After he died, I never warmed up to his wife and two “I want attention” nips sealed my fate. I do love being brushed (for a while!) and enjoy playing with toys, so if I promise to be the good, affectionate boy I used to be, will you make me yours?

Moo

Hi… my name is Moo,

Adopted 5-5-22

My young life has been okay so far, but mom had to move to a place that didn’t allow pets so here I am. Mom says I’m “the sweetest cat ever” and I’d like to prove it to you! I’m okay with dogs and love string toys. I’m as curious as they come and am especially curious about OUTSIDE, so I need a home where I can be protected from open doors. I will talk to you in a soft “meow” when I’m hungry or want your attention, and happily lap up whatever affection you have to give. How about it?  Can we start exploring together?
