Hi… my name is Sheba,

ADOPTED 11-6-21

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

It’s that time of life when I may have a middle-age spread, a couple of aches and pains, and I might not be able to see and hear as well as I used to, but I think I’m fine the way I am. I need a new home due to my former owner’s health issues. My foster mom taught me how to use a doggie door, and the commands “sit,” “wait,” and “stop.” In fact, I taught HER how to heel, and she follows me everywhere. OOPS!…that could be the other way around. Whatever! I like to stay close! On walks I get a little snappy with other dogs, otherwise I seem fine with them. I come with Vet Care Support for Life… tempted? Once we meet in person, I think I’ll be coming home with you.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Bosch,

Adopted 9-2-21

Meowing for food and water only works for so long. I managed for about a month in the Villas neighborhood, when a kind stranger finally took pity and brought me to TALGV (where there’s plenty of both – and treats too – to go around!). Now all I need is a home and person of my own and my happiness will know no bounds. I’m a delightful 9-month-old teenager who loves attention, playing (of course), and my immediate goal is being the apple of your eye. I’ve had enough outdoor time to last me for nine lifetimes, so let’s you and me get together and spend our days marveling at our luck in finding each other!

Hi… my name is Frodo,

Frodo went to Rainbow Bridge on 9-16-22

When I was first at TALGV I was a puppy. Look at me now! I love my walks and at first I may get excited and pull on the leash, but once we get going I walk very well and pay close attention to my handler. I’m a big “teddy-bear-like” boy, and I require someone strong enough to handle me. I enjoy going for rides, but I may need assistance getting into high clearance vehicles. You know how hips can be! (I do take daily pain medication that will be paid for by Vet Care Support for Life.) I may be curious about other dogs but when provoked I react mildly, but I understand the “leave it” command, plus “sit,” “wait,” and “let’s go.” Take me for a walk; take me home; keep me forever…Please!

PS My baby picture is at the end of the gallery.

Hi… my name is Snoopy,

Adopted 9-10-21

“Playful (sometimes), meeter and greeter or shy with strangers (depends on his mood), wants cuddles and pets (he’ll come to you).” Sound like a typical cat? Yep. Also, I can be affectionate, but please, DON’T pick me up ‘cause it makes me feel insecure and I’ll do my best to get down! I lived with another cat, a dog, and three kids (maybe that’s part of the “anti-pickup” behavior), and got along with everyone, but my people decided that they had too many pets to give us all our deserved attention. I also missed the litterbox occasionally, but that could have been a distraction because of the hubbub, so I’m really eager to prove myself!

Hi… my name is Bubbles,

Adopted 11-30-21

When we meet, you may see a large package, but I am really a small dog at heart. I like to sit in laps, for example! I’m not altogether sure what she means by it, but one of the volunteers here calls me a loveable klutz. I am pretty easy going, don’t object to being touched or handled, and I love car rides! To tell all, I was on my way to a great adventure, even trying to hitch a ride, when a smart man decided that I would be better off here. He was right, of course! Now I just have to find that special someone, my very own special someone, who will finally take me on that adventure. Let’s meet soon. I bet we could become really good friends!

Hi… my name is Kodiak,

Adopted 8-24-21

If you just happen to be looking for a canine companion who’s an excellent loose-leash walker, climbs into vehicles, and happily settles down for the ride, look no further. I’m an 8-month-old Husky mix boy and even though I already know the meaning of “sit,” “wait,” and “let’s go,” I’m young enough to be trained, by you, to understand and obey additional commands. When out walking, I pay attention to my surroundings and my handler. I’m curious about other dogs but when provoked I can be mildly reactive. In this situation, it’s helpful that I also understand the command “leave it.” Would you believe I’m not particularly “treat” motivated? I’m not saying I’ll always turn down a tasty morsel because we both know better. Now, get ready, get set, GO to TALGV and ask for me.

Hi… my name is Gelato,

Adopted with Sorbet 9-5-21

“Cats were outside my apartment on a chair crying. I opened the door and they ran in. Female is injured and male is very protective of her.” That’s all we know about my sister, Sorbet, and me (I demonstrated my devotion to her after we were neutered by worming my way into her cage while we recovered to comfort her!). I’m a happy, outgoing 8-month-old guy who’s curious about everything. I have the longest legs you’ve ever seen (they might have nicknamed me “Legs” if I were in the Mafia!), and am just generally an all around great guy. You can bet you won’t go wrong with the two of us to keep you company!

Hi… my name is Bear (aka Guy),

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

How would you like a handsome Rottweiler/ Shepherd mix boy to come home with you? Since I’m “big” and 8-years-old, I will come to you with Vet Care Support for Life. I lived with two canine family members and we all got along well….except for my food aggression (which can be easily managed). I’m a real people dog, and I’ve been gentle with children, (no cats, please!). I’m house and crate trained (a little separation anxiety). I love car rides, and because I know two key commands: “wait” and “let’s go,” I’m an exceptionally good leash walker, matching my handler’s gait and “stopping” and “sitting” on command. Not to brag but did I mention I previously earned my AKC Canine Good Citizen prep training award? Hopefully I’ve piqued your curiosity enough to meet me and perhaps shake paws on my adoption!
