Charming is an affectionate and well-mannered 6-pound, 9-month-old male Chihuahua mix that needs a good home as owners’ new jobs do not allow time for their dogs. He is neutered, crate trained, asks to go out, and uses doggy door. Charming is healthy and is up to date with his shots. He loves to play with his doggy companion and kids (ages 2 -8). There is no adoption fee for this sweet boy.

There were twelve of us—6 young dogs and 6 newborn puppies—left in an abandoned house without food or water in triple-digit heat. Then a door opened. A woman had heard us. She was our first hero, and there would be many more. Indeed, we were in such dire straits that the rescue activity at TALGV by so many people—busy with fluids, cooling, nourishment, whatever we needed—is a bit of a blur. What I know for sure is that our lives were saved that day. Now we each have a future—a chance to thrive, play, give and receive love. I’m a small Poodle mix male, blonde, 9-1/2 pounds, and I’m sure you understand why I’m so ready for a carefree, fun, happy life in a comfy, loving home with you! (bio needs update)

Big Buddy

I’ve lived up to my name wholeheartedly—weighing about 80 pounds on arrival here and having been a good buddy, protective and devoted, to the single woman at home. But she’s moving and can’t take me along, so sadly gave me up. She says I’ve been a great and gentle companion; leash, crate and house trained, and I like to play. (Hide-and-seek with treats is a favorite.) I’ve not met many other dogs, but do protect my toys and food from other animals and children. Since puppyhood—I’m a 3-year-old Lab mix male—I’ve lived with one woman, and she says a gentle voice and patience work best with me. And we both say you can call me whatever name you choose, as long as you’re my buddy and let me be yours.

When my person moved into assisted living, I was so worried about leaving home that I was described as “scared to death.” Once here, despite gentle reassurances from understanding people, I trembled so hard the toys in my room were shaking, too. Today, if you look in my eyes, you’ll see I’m still worried about strangers, but I also can’t help but be interested in them. Is that one friendly? Does she have any of those tiny biscuits in her pocket? Right now, I’m more comfortable with men, but that doesn’t have to be a permanent thing. Very slowly, I’ve become acquainted with women here and turns out they can be nice, too. I’m a 4-year-old blonde Chihuahua mix male, and if you’re a patient, kind person, I’d love to feel safe again with you.

She is housebroken, uses doggy door, and walks well on leash. She is okay with other dogs and children; cats are unknown. Maggie has been spayed and is up to date with her shots (medical records available). She is friendly, alerts to strangers, and is very smart. There is no adoption fee for this nice girl.

When I first arrived here, I barely moved. I’d been found on the street, my coat was unkempt, and I appear to have some hearing and perhaps vision loss. I was so scared. I’m happy when my walker arrives, enjoy those outdoor strolls, and inside, I sometimes make my own fun—like making “toys” out of my blankets before taking a nap on them. Not that we’ve forgotten that puppies are supposed to learn stuff, too—things that are very important to our people, so we all need someone with the patience and time to teach us. If you’re one of those people, I promise to remain adorable as I grow and learn. We all appear to be a Chihuahua/Terrier mix and I’m the single male in this litter, with a handsome coat of tan and white and big brown eyes, weighing in at around 12 pounds.
