Hi… my name is Rango,

Adopted 8-31-25

As the saying goes, “Good things come in small packages.” I’m a 35-pound brindle “mystery mix,” but the real mystery is how such a big heart and joyful personality fit in a small body. A kind stranger found me wandering and TALGV promised to help me find my forever home. I’m sweet, playful, and friendly with people and other dogs. I’m the perfect mix of energy and calm—not so hyper you’ll wish I had an ‘off switch,’ and not such a couch potato you might mistake me for a throw pillow. I’m always game for a walk, a car ride, or snuggles on the couch. Best of all, I’m an adventure buddy at heart, eager to explore all the sights, sounds, and smells with you. Neutered, vetted, and ready—I’m ready to be your loyal companion!

Hi… my name is Shenzi,

Adopted 8-7-25

If you’ve ever watched “The Lion King,” you’ll remember the quick-witted hyena voiced by Whoopi Goldberg, but trust me—I’m far more polished than my namesake. Even my name means “unrefined.” Please, I’m anything BUT. No scavenger life for me. I’m a 51-lb brindle beauty. I strut on a leash like I own the block, charm everyone I meet, and have excellent taste in roommates (my current dog pal agrees). I’m curious about the world—love a good sniffari to explore my surroundings. I’m independent, not needy. Think of me as your witty best friend who doesn’t crowd the couch, but always makes you smile. How did I end up homeless? A mystery. But honey—their loss is your gain. Let’s make this adoption thing official. I bring the personality. You bring the snacks.

Hi… my name is Orion,

Adopted with Estela 6-3-25

What is cuter than a Boxer puppy? Me—a Boxer mix! I have all the cuteness and silly antics that Boxers are known for, but I don’t snore nearly as much. I’m a little reserved at first, but I warm up quickly. I love playing with other dogs, and I can hold my own with dogs who are bigger than me. I met a cat once—it scared me, but I didn’t chase it, so these nice people gave me a treat. I am learning to walk on a leash, sit, and follow other commands here in my puppy preschool, and they say I’m a shining star! I’d love to be part of your universe, so come by and see me today.

Hi… my name is Estela,

Adopted with Orion 6-3-25

When the people at TALGV first met me, they knew I was a star, which is how I got my name. My mom is a Shepherd mix and my papa is a rolling stone (er…rolling Boxer, I guess). I was brought in with my siblings so the nice people here could help us find homes. While I’ve been here, I’ve been able to play with dogs (even big dogs, who I really like!), a cat (scary!), and other puppies. I also go to school because I’m a big girl; I know how to do “watch me,” “sit,” and I just mastered “down.” I also learned to walk on a leash like a champ. I’d love to be the star of your family, so come by and see me soon.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Buddy,

Adopted 8-23-25

Bright, alert, good natured—these are the standards for a Boxer, and I have them all. I am a very affectionate boy (I will practically bend my body in half as I wiggle when you come to visit). Yes, I can be silly and a little excitable, but I am very smart, so all you need to do is ask me to “sit” (snacks help) and I will plop my backside on the floor and patiently await snuggles. I’m a good walker, and I like to go for rides in cars, especially if there are pup cups involved. I would love a moderately active, patient owner who will ask me to calm down before rewarding me, but I promise to pay you back in a lifetime of wiggles, waggles, and the sweetest of kisses.

Hi… my name is Dolly,

For seven years, it was just me and my dad, and I loved him deeply. When I lost him, my world felt very scary, but I’m learning, thanks to my foster home, that safe, quiet homes exist again. I’m a sensitive girl whose confidence grows a little more each day. I love lying beside my people on the couch (please don’t move too much), sleeping on the bed, and inching closer as the night goes on. I prefer to choose when I’m touched, but I’m learning that gentle hands can be kind. Walks are short but improving, and sometimes I even prance with my tail held high. I enjoy routine, slow meals, and silly games at treat time. I’m housebroken, leash-trained, and worth the patience it takes to earn my trust.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Dill,

Adopted 12-22-24

These are puppy days at The Animal League! First there was one litter, then another, then another, and then another! Right now, there are two kennels full of puppies, and even more in foster homes.  Male and female puppies with different personalities, coats of different colors, and already learning little doggie lessons. I’m Dill, a brindle male with white socks, one of the “spice puppies” (the volunteers choose “theme names” for litters.) I’m here to tell you we’re all looking for happy homes with loving people who understand that puppies require time and patience, and will fill your days with laughter and fun. And if you’re wondering, yes, our wonderful moms are here, too, and they’re ready for their own forever homes, too. Please come take your pick! It could be fun for all!

Hi… my name is Clove,

Adopted 12-26-24

Puppies are cute, easy to love and sometimes goofy.  I know because I’m surrounded by puppies! They’re my siblings! And there are more puppies at the Animal League, too. I hear them playing and sometimes I can smell them because, well, I’m a dog. Yes, I’m still little, with lots to learn, and needing a daily puppy portion of cuddling, playing, and reminders that I’m safe and loved. I’m Clove, one of the Spice litter boys, and old enough to meet people now. And if another puppy is your favorite, that’s okay. There are puppies here of different sizes, personalities, colors, genders, and we all need happy homes to grow up in. So, if you’re ready to add some puppy joy to your life, we’re here for you at The Animal League of Green Valley.
