Hi… my name is Belle,

Adopted 11-19-18

When people compliment me for being an exceptionally sweet, good-natured dog, I appreciate their kindness all the more because I’ve known rough times—one in particular. On that day, a young puppy mixed with some older dogs, then something happened and suddenly there was trouble—serious trouble for the puppy. I stepped in to help him and we both ended up in the hospital. The pup recovered fully and soon was adopted, and my wounds healed, too—you may notice a few scars, but friends tell me heroes often have scars. Now, I’m living in a foster home, hoping every day that someone wonderful will choose me as their dog, and together we’ll share a happy, carefree life. If that’s you—if you’ll let me be your sweet dog—you’ll be my hero forever!

Hi… my name is Domino,

Adopted 8-10-18

I’m happy to say that there are many wonderful people out there who love big dogs! Lucky me, right? I’m 100+ pounds—my size makes me strong too, and my former person felt I was too strong for her as she got older—but, fortunately, I’m also very friendly and very loving. Moreover, people seem to like me and that’s mutual—I’m great with people and small dogs. (Protective around large dogs, though.) A 6-1/2-year-old American Bulldog, I’m housebroken, know commands like sit, stay, and come, understand some Spanish, and I’m a happy guy who likes to play. White with brown spots, including one big brown spot on my back (like a Domino), I’d sure like to meet you. And if we find each other irresistible, well, “together-forever” has a nice ring to it!

Hi… my name is Lowell,

Adopted 5-25-18

Lowell has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

I was found in the parking lot of a doctor’s office (a doctor for humans, that is). The story of how I came to be lost is unknown, and that’s okay by me. I’m a today-and-tomorrow kind of guy—eager, lively, looking for fun. Oh, if you tell me to sit, I’ll do it. My friends here say I’m smart and “trainable” (especially with treats). But I hope your word for me is “likeable,” maybe even “loveable.” The thing is, as much fun as I’m having here, every night I dream of the same thing: My forever home with a person or family of my own. I’m a 2-year-old Heeler/Hound mix male, 49 pounds, and I’d love to meet you, because I’m thinking we could make each other very happy for a very long time!

Hi… my name is Magoo,

Adopted 7-3-19

When I was found running in a parking lot with an 11-pound Terrier—I’m a 64-pound Boxer/Staffie mix—my finders thought I looked friendly. After all, I was very sweet with that little dog and, sure enough, when they offered, I jumped right in the car. Here at TALGV, the little dog was quickly adopted, so I have high hopes for the same good luck. Mind you, I came in needing some touch-ups—I was too thin when found, so I love the regular meals here. Also, I didn’t show any leash experience, but being eager to please makes me eager to learn, so training is fun! And my strong suit remains the same: I’m a friendly, playful, very sweet guy, a handsome 2-year-old who loves you already. May we please go home together today?

Hi… my name is Sun Tzu,

Adopted with Thelma 11-9-17

Here’s what we know about me: “A male neutered Siamese mix was brought to our veterinary clinic by a Good Samaritan who reported that the feline had been on his property for approximately one month. Cat is in good health and has been microchipped.” And when they tried to trace my owner through that, they reached a dead end. So what I’m thinking is that the dead end in my past life could well be the beginning of my new life with YOU! I’m a handsome (that word is sometimes overworked, but just take a look at me!), 2-year-old Siamese mix (named after the Chinese general who wrote “The Art of War,”) who’s looking toward a future full of peace, security, and love. No “wars” for this guy!
