Hi… my name is Casey,
Adopted May 21, 2016
Casey has received his American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification and he has also learned how to carry a backpack (which will be part of his going-home packet).
You don’t see too many Chesapeake Bay retrievers here in Arizona, much less in shelters! I suppose I’m not a purebred though because their coats are curlier than mine, but I’ve got the same personality traits (happy, intelligent, gentle, tolerant, and active!). I wandered onto the property of a family in Sahuarita to play with their female Staffie, and “just stuck around.” They said I was a very sweet guy who got along great with their 7-year-old daughter, and loved to play “tug-of-war” with a rope. So trust me, if you’re looking for a big, happy-go-lucky companion, you’ll find that the folks in Maryland knew what they were doing when they chose me as their state dog!
Arrived January 4, 2015.

I’ll let my foster mom speak for me (‘cause she’s pretty enamored of me!). “Curlie is an energetic, fun-loving pup who shares her days with two big dogs. She is crate-trained, almost house-trained (and she’s learning the doggy door), rides well in the car, sleeps through the night, loves to walk, has good leash manners, and understands “no” and “leave it.” Because she’s still a teething puppy, she needs to be supervised around ‘chewy’ things (plant life is especially appealing!), and like all puppies, she’d benefit from obedience training, as she can be a bit strong-willed and “busy”! So if that’s not enough for you, I’m a totally irresistible young Fox Terrier mix girl who is going to turn out to be the twinkle in your eye — I promise!
Arrived October 28, 2014.

My mom, a long-time volunteer at TALGV, was obviously “into” calicos as she had five of us (all adoptees, of course!), so when she had to go into assisted living, she knew there would be no better place to care for us until we found new homes. Not to toot my own horn, but I’m a drop-dead gorgeous, blue eyed, longhaired “dilute” version, and have a VERY sociable and charming personality to match. I’m the youngest of the bunch, so I’ve got tons of time ahead of me to make your life just as happy as I did my mom’s. Why not “make her day” and take me home so the volunteers can let her know I’ve got a new lease on life?
Arrived October 17, 2014.
