Hi… my name is Casey,

Adopted May 21, 2016

Casey has received his American Kennel Club (AKC)  Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification and he has also learned how to carry a backpack (which will be part of his going-home packet).

You don’t see too many Chesapeake Bay retrievers here in Arizona, much less in shelters! I suppose I’m not a purebred though because their coats are curlier than mine, but I’ve got the same personality traits (happy, intelligent, gentle, tolerant, and active!). I wandered onto the property of a family in Sahuarita to play with their female Staffie, and “just stuck around.” They said I was a very sweet guy who got along great with their 7-year-old daughter, and loved to play “tug-of-war” with a rope. So trust me, if you’re looking for a big, happy-go-lucky companion, you’ll find that the folks in Maryland knew what they were doing when they chose me as their state dog!

Arrived January 4, 2015.

Hi… my name is Curlie.

Adopted November 30, 2014.

I’ll let my foster mom speak for me (‘cause she’s pretty enamored of me!). “Curlie is an energetic, fun-loving pup who shares her days with two big dogs. She is crate-trained, almost house-trained (and she’s learning the doggy door), rides well in the car, sleeps through the night, loves to walk, has good leash manners, and understands “no” and “leave it.” Because she’s still a teething puppy, she needs to be supervised around ‘chewy’ things (plant life is especially appealing!), and like all puppies, she’d benefit from obedience training, as she can be a bit strong-willed and “busy”! So if that’s not enough for you, I’m a totally irresistible young Fox Terrier mix girl who is going to turn out to be the twinkle in your eye — I promise!

Arrived October 28, 2014.

Hi… my name is Minerva.

Adopted November 3, 2014.

My mom, a long-time volunteer at TALGV, was obviously “into” calicos as she had five of us (all adoptees, of course!), so when she had to go into assisted living, she knew there would be no better place to care for us until we found new homes. Not to toot my own horn, but I’m a drop-dead gorgeous, blue eyed, longhaired “dilute” version, and have a VERY sociable and charming personality to match. I’m the youngest of the bunch, so I’ve got tons of time ahead of me to make your life just as happy as I did my mom’s. Why not “make her day” and take me home so the volunteers can let her know I’ve got a new lease on life?

Arrived October 17, 2014.

Hi… my name is Holly.

Adopted October 15, 2014.

I actually arrived at TALGV when I was only five weeks old, and in short order an older gentleman adopted me and another kitten my age. Sadly, he’s had some really serious health issues, and since his family could only keep one of us, it’s just me back again looking for a new family to share my enthusiasm with. I’m a delightful tabby and white girl, and although I’m not the “oh wow” ball of fluff I was as a baby, I’m still just as outgoing, playful, and lovable as can be. I could share all that with just you, or, having lived with another cat, would probably enjoy another feline companion again too. Suffice it to say, I can pretty much “do it all!”

Arrived October 9, 2014.

Hi… my name is Buster Boy.

Adopted November 15, 2014.

When families move, things change for us pets, but that usually means only a brief adjustment to a new home. In the case of my housemate, Bella Girl, and me it meant we lost our family AND home, as they couldn’t take us with them. I’d lived with the young couple and their kids (ages 1, 3, and 8) all my life, so it was doubly hard to lose them. But I’m an outgoing and happy boy, and have high hopes that there will be another active home where I can be my typical sweet self. I’m a young Staffie mix and mom said that I’m super gentle and tolerant of kids, know a few basic commands and since I adore people, I’d sure be ecstatic if you’d let me “feel the love” with you!

Arrived September 29, 2014.

MAISON is a 4 ½-year-old handsome Teddy Bear Shar-Pei who needs a new home with a family that has more time for him. He is good with all children but is happiest with kids 8 years or older who will give him lots of love and attention. Maison is fully housebroken (asks to go out), is crate- and leash-trained, and knows sit, lay down, go to bed. He is a couch potato at home but enjoys the dog park. Cats are unknown. He weighs a healthy 60 pounds and has been neutered but does need to be updated on his shots. There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Maison into a loving home as part of your family, please call Janie between 8 AM and 8 PM at 520-891-3700.
