Hi… my name is Lexi,

Adopted 12-12-19

Comes with Vet Care Support for Life

I was with my family for 10 years, but circumstances changed and I was brought here to TALGV. They said I was a very sweet and mellow girl. But after being with the same humans for 10 years, I found it to be very disconcerting to be here. Fortunately folks here were very patient and understanding, which gave me a chance to blossom into the sweet loving dog my owner said I was. Now I’m getting into the swing of things, showing off my obedience training, sit, down, stay; walking with other puppers from the den. Big dogs are very scary and make me nervous, but other than that, I’m obedience trained, housebroken, leash trained, have Vet Care Support for Life, and am ready for a new furever home.

Hi… my name is Sneakers,

Adopted 11-15-19

If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t want an “in your face” kind of guy, you probably won’t fall in love with me. BUT…if you like to have (lots of) interaction with your feline companion and enjoy a (big) lapful of love, well, you’ve come to the right place! My brother, Socks, and I, as well as two other housemates, Fluffy and Muffy, lost our home because our dad had too many pets and couldn’t find anyone to care for us when he traveled. I will literally turn myself upside down to win your attention, so come claim one of the happy-go-luckiest guys in the world for yourself! (Oh, and I also love dogs!)

Hi… my name is Socks,

In the cat world, there are big guys and then there are the “plus size” varieties, and my brother, Sneakers (who already got adopted, lucky guy), and I sure fit in the latter category! Although I’m not as totally “in your face” as he was, I’m still a lover once I’m comfortable around you, and crave just as much hands-on attention. We lost our home because our dad had too many pets and couldn’t find anyone to care for us when he traveled. I promise to do all I can to win your attention, so won’t you come claim one of the sweetest (and now loneliest!) guys in the world for yourself! (Oh, and I also love dogs!)

Hi… my name is Sandie,

Adopted 10-30-19

I’m just a foot and a half tall and a year and a half old. I’m buff both in color and physique. You could say I’m well balanced! I’m here at TALGV because my Mom and Dad worked long hours and said I’m “a sweetheart who deserves more companionship.” I’m a friendly girl with people and other dogs. The combination of having brains and curiosity led me to figuring out how to open a handle doorknob and jump a fence. Safety doesn’t cross my mind when there’s something to explore on the other side. Right now I’m wondering who’s going to come through my door from the other side and take me to my new home!

Hi… my name is Toby,

I was one of 23 chihuahuas in one household and am now learning how to bond with humans. My buddies were all canines, and I’m back together with my brother Sarge who came here 5 months ahead of me. When I arrived at TALGV, I was scared, and I admit to growling at people who tried to coax me out of my kennel. I now know they were just trying to make friends. I’m still leery of being approached by a stranger, but I’m letting the volunteers dress me in a collar and harness and take me for walks. That’s something that used to scare me stiff! Step by step, and day by day, I’m making progress toward my dream of becoming a devoted companion in a loving home.

Hi… my name is Buttercup,

Adopted 10-6-19

Comes with Vet Care Support for Life

My dad (who’s in hospice care) didn’t write a whole lot about me except that I’m very mellow and don’t like aggressive dogs (is there someone out there who does?). I guess he figured mellow pretty much covered everything you need to know about me. Well, I’ll also tell you that I’m a 13-year-old lady, and that entitles me to vet care support for life (not that I need it; I’m healthy as the proverbial horse), and I was declawed when I was a year old (that really hurt — but I’ve managed to be OK with it), and I’m betting you’ll find even more endearing things about me once you decide to take me home!
