Some say my face reminds them of Old Deuteronomy, the kind, soulful, and wise leader in Cats, and my mom bears that out when she says that I was very protective of her! I lived with her all my life, but when she became pregnant, and had to move, things didn’t work out for me. My mom did say that I’m a gentle and tolerant declawed guy who loves catnip, belly rubs (I don’t like my ears scratched, though!), squeaky furry toys (I hide them!), and that I’m a “super chill cat who will be a couch potato with you.” I’m eligible for Free Vet Care for Life, too, so all in all, you’ll be getting the “whole nine yards” in this buff-colored package!

I came to TALGV with three other 6-month-old dogs, so I’ve had good company. We were not as lucky in the home department, though, because our original family couldn’t keep us. So we’re here now, where each of us can find a forever home. I’m a Lab/Terrier mix male, about 41 pounds, with a handsome buff-colored coat. At just 6 months, I‘m still learning, but I already know I love to play with balls and toys, get along well with others, and was gentle and tolerant when given the chance to be with children. Home is a dream now, but I just know that one magical day, someone wonderful will look at me and say, “I want to meet that dog,” and then we’ll both fall in love. Could my wonderful someone be you?

Mr. Kitty Cat

I may have used up a few of my nine lives, but I’m still “alive and kicking” despite my travails! I survived on the streets for years until my mom gave me a wonderful home, but sadly, end-stage COPD necessitated her moving in with her daughter, who is allergic to cats. My mom dearly loved me, and said that I was a sweet boy who was a good companion, quiet and independent, and very tolerant of the resident dog. I’ve lost quite a few teeth along the way, and tested positive for FIV (but don’t let that scare you away because I may never have any symptoms) and still can eat up a storm! With Free Vet Care for Life and a great personality, you can’t go wrong with me!

Okay, maybe I need to lose a few pounds (don’t we all?) but I’m sure the folks here will see that I get on a Weight Watcher’s regimen and pointed down the road to svelteness! I’ve lived all my life in a very busy home (with active kids ranging from 2 to 18!), so since I’m basically a rather shy lady, I’m thinking my life would be a lot happier in a more serene setting. I’m not a total fuddy-duddy though, and do like to play with furry toys and do “cat stuff,” so I won’t be just a bump on a log in my new home! At just 11 pounds and 1 year old, you can imagine how scary it was for me to be wandering a busy street all alone. I was so relieved to be rescued by a caring person who kept me for a couple of weeks to see if anyone claimed me. In that time, my finder said, I enjoyed being with the two other small dogs in the home. The word used to describe me was “sweet,” and my friends at TALGV say the same thing; they call me their sweetie. They also sing my praises for qualities that come naturally to me—being friendly, playful, and loving. I’m an adorable little Chihuahua female looking forward to many happy years ahead. How about I spend them being the best little companion possible to wonderful you!

Well, my mom and I had a good ten-year run. She fell in love with me when I came to TALGV with my kittens, but now she’s gone into a nursing home, so sadly, our time together has come to an end. She was a long-time volunteer here, and is confident that I’ll be well cared for and knows the volunteers will do everything possible to find me another loving home. I’m a petite, silky-soft girl who lived with another cat and a very active dog (I could probably do with a calmer one!), and although not exactly a lap cat, I am a sweet, “no problem” lady, who’s sure to bring joy to your life (and as added bonus, at 12 years old I come with Free Vet Care for Life)!
