Hi… my name is Kassie,

Adopted 7-5-20

I have never been as afraid as I was on that deserted road, with not a single soul in sight. When a car stopped, a lady got out and picked me up, it was then I knew my life was going to change for the better. She kept me for two days then brought me to TALGV where I met many other people who made me feel right at home. I’m a female Chihuahua mix, approximately 5 years old. I can’t explain my life before, or how I came to be in the middle of nowhere, but I can tell you that I really need some love and security in my life. If you are interested in sharing yourself and home, please call the office and make an appointment to meet me in person.

Rainey is a friendly and smart 40-pound, 8-year-old female Terrier mix that was recently rescued. She is housebroken, enjoys being brushed, and loves bones and stuffed Kongs. She is leash and obedience trained. She is crate trained and would prefer to live with folks who are home most of the time. Rainey is healthy, has been spayed, and is up to date with shots (medical records available). She gets along with other dogs and older kids; cats are unknown. There is no adoption fee for this special girl.

If you will welcome Rainey into a loving home as part of your family, please call Andrea between 10 AM and 7 PM at 520-307-9481.

Hi… my name is Blanca,

Adopted 10-15-19

Abandoned and alone in the house with our brother after our human Mom died, my sister, Olivia, and I were rescued by an angel. She found our brother who died of starvation, and she took us in to comfort, love, and feed us. But her other big dogs weren’t happy with two Chihuahuas, so she brought us to TALGV. Understandably, at first we were petrified, but after just one day of nurturing by the volunteers, we started regaining our trust in people. By the afternoon of that first day, we were sitting on their laps. We know how to use piddle pads, but we’re just learning about leashes. I’ve relied on Olivia throughout our ordeal, but I’m gaining independence. I’m eager to start life over, loving you, and trusting that I’ll never be abandoned again.

Hi… my name is Charles-Jay (aka Charlie),

Adopted 9-22-19

Comes with Vet Care Support for Life

Dad was my best friend. I was his devoted Red Heeler. I loved living with him and Mom, and cats and dogs for 11 years. Since Dad died, Mom has to downsize and move. Mom says I’m extraordinary. When I’m told, “Charles-Jay, take care of…” I understand and know what to do. Sissie brought home 3 Husky puppies. Mom told me, “Take care of those pups,” and I did. She said I raised them. Dad once instructed, “Take care of Skyler,” and I wound up saving my Rottie brother from a rattlesnake. I saw it and herded Skyler to the porch. Then I barked my head off until Dad came. I was dubbed a hero, but I was just doing my job. I’ll do the same for you and even come with vet care support for life!

Hi… my name is Blaze (aka Uncle Sam),

Adopted with Kole 9-17-19

There were twelve of us—6 young dogs and 6 newborn puppies—left in an abandoned house without food or water in triple-digit heat. Then a door opened. A woman had heard us. She was our first hero, and there would be many more. Indeed, we were in such dire straits that the rescue activity at TALGV by so many people—busy with fluids, cooling, nourishment, whatever we needed—is a bit of a blur. What I know for sure is that our lives were saved that day Now we each have a future—a chance to thrive, play, give and receive love. I’m a Poodle mix male, almost white, and I’m sure you understand why I’m so ready for a fun, happy life in a comfy, loving home with you!
