Hi… my name is United,

Adopted 5-24-20

It’s true – if you want to entice a shy cat, sit on the floor for a while (or, for those who don’t bend that way, sit in a chair!). Curiosity will eventually win out. It may take a while, but trust me, it works almost every time! My siblings and I were found in the desert, and although a human mom fed us, we really didn’t have a lot of “hands on” time, and with so many other critters around, we were understandably wary. Happily, TALGV’s patient volunteers are now finding that we’ve got tons of sweetness stored up, so why not spend time with us yourself and find out? You may just fall in love!

Hi… my name is Skipper,

Adopted 1-31-20

Some “works in progress” may take longer to develop than others, but with patience, they’re often well worth the effort. That appears to be the case with me, especially since my longtime girlfriend was adopted and left me alone (she was a Siamese, so I guess more “trendy”). I’ve been keeping a very low profile ‘cause there is just so much activity going on all the time, but the volunteers are exceedingly patient, and they’ve been spending a lot of time working to earn my trust. I’m sure one of these days I’ll surprise everyone by revealing my real self to be just as loving as you could possibly want – so stay tuned!

Hi… my name is Penne,

Adopted 11-3-19

You wonder why some kittens in a litter get overlooked when they’re just as cute, cuddly, and (especially in my case!) beautiful! Maybe it’s because back when I first arrived there were what seemed like TONS of us, and I guess there weren’t enough people in the market for kittens at the time for all of us to find homes. Well, my littermate, Ziti, and I are still waiting, and we’re still just as sweet as we were as babies, and, if possible, even more appealing in our “maturity” at almost 5 months. My gorgeous orange and brown Torbie coat and delightful personality are sure to win your heart, so come meet me soon – I’m waiting!

Hi… my name is Punkin,

Adopted 10-14-19

Sometimes you can tell just by looking whether a cat is a male or a female, so when you take a gander at my oh-so-very-feminine face, you’ll see what I mean. I’m the quintessential gorgeous gal – petite body, long silky hair, almond eyes, and a classic profile. All that in addition to my playfulness (I’m still basically a kitten at a year old)! I do crave attention and will follow you around (and occasionally nip you) until I get it, and love playing with toys and small balls. I do NOT get along with dogs though, so a cat tree, lots of toys, windows to sit in, and you are really all I need!

Hi… my name is Zippy,

Adopted 6-2-20

I’m not living up to my name at the moment ‘cause this seems like a pretty scary place. It’ll take time to adjust, but everyone’s giving me lots of encouragement, so I know things will be okay eventually. I lived happily with my mom until another cat and a dog arrived, and my life took a U-turn. Mom said I’m really a one person (preferably a mature female), one pet, lady, who’ll find a favorite spot (usually on top of a comfy chair with a soft throw), and I love classical music and sitting in windows or a cat tower watching birds. If you can give me my old life back, I’ll love you forever!

Hi… my name is Cyrus (aka Snap),

Adopted 10-5-19

You’d expect a big guy to have a big purr wouldn’t you? Well, you won’t be disappointed when you meet me! At 24 pounds, I sound a bit like an idling semi when I get going, and it doesn’t take much! My people adopted me from TALGV when I was a kitten, and all was well until I decided I didn’t want to share them with the other cat. You can tell by my girth that I’ve been getting far too many treats (OK, probably too much food in general!), but now that I’m on a diet, I’m sure I’ll slim down to a more comfortable lap size. I’ll bet yours would fit me fine!

Hi… my name is Tigre,

Adopted 8-26-19

The number one thing my mom said about me is “he loves EVERYONE!”   Also, “He’s absolutely the friendliest cat ever. He especially loves children and is very gentle and understanding of his size when he plays with them. He’s needy, but will sleep with his brother, Muneca, if he can’t have you. He wants to be held all the time and loves tummy rubs and nose scratches.” I lived with my family almost all of my 5½ years, but when the two-year-old developed respiratory issues, my brother and I had to move on. I’m being positive though, and have high hopes I’ll be given the chance to share all my wonderful qualities with another family.

Hi… my name is Muneca,

Adopted 8-27-19

Mom said, “He’s a wonderful, sweet boy who’s shy at first, but warms up quickly, loves to be held, and will sleep on your lap for hours. He likes to lie across your shoulders and purr in your ear. He’s needy, but will sleep with his brother, Tigre, if he can’t have you.” I lived happily with my family almost all of my 5½ years, but when the two-year-old developed respiratory issues, my brother and I had to move on. I’m going to be positive though, and have high hopes that I’ll be given the chance to share all my wonderful qualities with another family (and you’ll let me whisper sweet nothings in your ear!).

Hi… my name is Yogurt (aka Boo),

Adopted 1-28-22

As a kitten I was discovered with other strays in a boat! Not having early nurturing, I developed a habit of “nursing” on fuzzy things. My human family, which included a 10-year-old child and 2 large dogs, thought it better that I try a new environment, even though I got along well with all of them. Well, I’ve been at TALGV for a while and there has been no evidence of my previous bad habit. Please come meet me! You may find me on top of a cat condo where I will greet you with open paws so you can pet me, curling into your arms. My desire is to be loved by you!
