I tried, I really did, but I just couldn’t get along with the other male cat that I shared my mom with (she called me “domineering,” whatever that means!), so I guess that means that it should just be you and me and life will be dandy! Mom also listed lots of my good qualities, like chasing laser lights, balls, and just about “anything that flies.” I’m also into listening to calm, soothing music, lap cuddling, being brushed and petted, and having my picture taken (I even won a contest for her!). You might not guess all that at the moment, as I’m pretty anxious about my change in circumstances, but if you give me a chance, I can prove that she was right about me on all counts!

You may notice my beautiful coat first, the interesting black, grey and white combination. That’s probably thanks to being a Belgian Malinois/Heeler mix, two beautiful breeds. Please notice, too, that I’m still a young girl, just 7 months old, active and eager with lots to learn. When my owner had to move and could not take me, she gave me to someone else, but that didn’t work for either of us. So now I’m here, hoping another someone with love and patience will take me home. I know “sit” and “shake,” and TALGV volunteers are teaching me other things, like how to walk on a leash. I love to play in rain and water from the hose and have a very sweet side, too. Could you be the one I’m longing to meet?

SHORTY is a handsome 2-year-old medium-haired grey and white boy who would like to be your new best friend. He needs a new home because owner had to leave behind when moving away suddenly. Shorty loves to sleep in your bed and to sit next to you on the sofa. He has a great temperament and gets along well with other cats. He adjusts well to a new environment within a few days. When I arrived at TALGV in 2014, I was dirty and practically starving, but a total sweetheart. After I got spiffed up, I went to live with a senior gentleman and lived with him for several months, but he said I was “too active” and caused him a lot of frustration (OK — I can be a “door darter”!), but that I really was a friendly gal who loves to play with “anything on a string” and small toys. I also was outgoing and eager to greet everyone who visited (thus the open door thing!), but really, if I have lots of stuff to keep me occupied, and a house to roam in, then I think I’d be one happy camper. I’m a lovely green-eyed, grey tabby girl who just wants to be your “meeter and greeter”!

Do you have any idea how disheartening it is to have the “distinction” of being the longest tenured cat at TALGV? And the one with the most “ins and outs!” And dagnabbit, it’s not my fault! Okay, maybe it is to a degree — I DO NOT get along well with other cats — but people knew that when they adopted me, and when I proved them right, back I came! I’m a longhaired, oh-so-handsome and mellow grey and white gentleman (and now eligible for Free Vet Care for Life), who still likes an occasional romp, playing with catnip mice, and cuddling with you (on my terms!), so if you don’t have another feline, then I think you could be my salvation. Won’t you please be patient and make that happen for me?
