Nubia and I have been together since we were born. Although we are siblings, I am almost twice her size and have always made sure she was okay. You know: protect her from strangers, snuggle at night, and play with her. But it doesn’t mean that we don’t like to snuggle with our people. On the contrary! I, for one, prefer sleeping in a real bed over one made for dogs. It just takes the two of us a bit to warm up, especially with all the back and forth recently. But as everyone here can tell you, if you give us a little space when you first arrive, I will check you out and soon Nubia and I will be your best friends. COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

As a kitten, I came to The Animal League and I found a home of my own. I lived with a nice couple for many years but now they have to give me up. I’m shy but friendly, and like cheek scratches. When they checked me out here they found I was FIV positive, which means I have the added benefit of Vet Care Support for Life. I’m really in good shape, and since FIV can only be spread by a deep bite wound, I am able to live with other cats. I’m a big girl and am very loving, but at times can be independent. I would probably prefer to be your only child.

NOTE: FIV is a virus that can only be passed among cats (humans or dogs are never affected), and only through blood. Since cats rarely fight to the degree of drawing blood, FIV positive cats can live long and healthy lives with both other FIV positive cats and friendly non-FIV cats. So don’t let those letters scare you — they’re practically like everyone else and they’ll love you even more for choosing them!

Someone didn’t want me any more and left me in the lobby at The Animal League—so I can’t tell you anything about my earlier life. But at least I came to a safe place! The nice people here are taking great care of me and I really like the volunteers. I’m very friendly and love to be petted and scratched. I have a sweet perch on a cat tree where I spend my time napping. My coat is a beautiful gray with lots of white on my face and chest. I’m young enough to give you many years of companionship! If you are looking for a smart, playful young cat with super soft fur, look no further! I was adopted as a kitten and went to a household with other cats. Not a good fit for me; I want to be your one and only. So here I am at The Animal League again. However, I’m very friendly with people. In the short time we were together, mom taught me to understand some of her words (like “treat” and “come”) and gestures (clapping or snapping fingers means “no.”) She catered to my every whim, even putting ice cubes in my water. Yes, I was spoiled! I’m hoping to find a new home where I can resume the life to which I have become accustomed.
