Hi… my name is Archie,

Adopted 1-9-22

You’ll understand how much I loved being around my person when you hear that I was only returned to TALGV because my elderly mom was tripping over me! I was sad to leave her, but I do understand that I could have caused a real disaster with my love-seeking. I LOVE attention, preferring to be the only pet in your life; no other cats or dogs, please! Mom said that I can’t jump very high but like to drink out of a faucet (so maybe you could give me “a leg up”!) I’m a good eater, very vocal, and enjoy sleeping in lots of places, including the bathtub! So if you’re looking for an unusual Japanese Bobtail gentleman, I’d like to spend lots of time with you!

Hi… my name is Holly,

Adopted 7-5-21

It has been said that I have an outgoing personality, and I haven’t met a person that I didn’t like. I’m an inquisitive girl, and I definitely need someone with a calm voice and firm demeanor to give me the guidance I need. I’m taking “classes” to learn good manners and some basic commands. I already know how to “sit” and “wait” and I’m also good on walks and ride well in cars. Sometimes, when I get to know you and like you, I can be a little clingy and somewhat overwhelming. That’s where that calm voice and firm demeanor come into play. I’m an exuberant Border Collie mix and if you are a patient, understanding person with as much zest for life as I have, please make an appointment to be introduced to ME!

Hi… my name is Emmett,

Adopted 4-21-22

After two months with my foster mom, she wants you to know that I’m a well-mannered, handsome, sweet and gentle boy. I’m also a fast learner who knows the basic commands. I’m crate trained, love being active, and thoroughly enjoy going for walks, wearing my harness. On several occasions I reacted when passing another dog, and I appeared “curious” about cats, from a distance. Even though I’ve progressed in so many ways, I still have fears to overcome. I’m timid around “some” people, situations, or things. I appreciate being praised and enjoy hugs. Are you an active, patient, loving person, who’s willing to accept my little “quirks” and take the time to win my trust?  Would you like to be my special person? If your answer is “yes,” let our adventure start here with a visit!                                                                                                                                            (Bio updated 2-19-22)

Hi… my name is Peanut (aka Popsicle),

Adopted 9-6-21

When my family moved to Washington, I came here with my brother, having had high hopes that we’d be adopted together ‘cause we were so bonded. Sadly, that didn’t happen, and I’m missing him awfully (even though there are lots of other cats here, it’s not the same). I’m a little shier than he was, but I still got high marks in the affection department (loving, calm, low maintenance, and precious). In my heart, I know that I’d “show better” if I did more schmoozing with the visitors, but I’ll tell you a secret, I’m saving all my love for the new person in my life – just take me home and find out!

Hi… my name is Poppy (aka Crosby),

Rainbow Bridge 7-31-21

My mom wrote three pages of wonderful things about my sister, Peanut, and me (you have to come visit us and read it all!), but she summed us up thus: “I would describe these two as bonded, loving, calm, low maintenance, and precious!” So you might wonder why we’re here. Well, our family had to move to Washington to care for an aging relative, and they felt that the move would be just too stressful for us. Actually, it’s kind of stressful here, too, right now, so I know once you meet us, you’ll want to offer us a new home where we can settle in and start living the happy, quiet lives we once knew.

Hi… my name is Nova,

Adopted 6-13-21

I’m a young Heeler mix and new mom to six adorable, healthy pups. They’ve reached the age where they’re starting to leave the litter and move into their forever homes. Soon I’ll be an “empty nester” and ready to experience a new life and home of my own. After I was found under a shed giving birth to my puppies, we were rescued and brought to TALGV. I’m a gentle girl and I enjoy affection whenever I can get it. Since my history is a mystery, you can imagine how much all this attention means to me. I can definitely get used to it! I can use a doggie door and I’ve been practicing walking on leash. Remember, I’m still somewhat a pup myself and I need what my puppies need, lots of love!

Hi… my name is Luna,

Adopted 6-6-21

I’m a gentle, tolerant girl who loves to run, play catch, and cuddle. Even though previous experience has left me somewhat between timid and shy, you can still see that sweet, loving dog I’ve always been. I do accept but don’t readily return affection. It takes a little more time and patience to earn my trust. Like they say, “slow and easy does it.” Once trust is established, you’ll be rewarded with my engaging and sweet personality. I nimbly jump into and out of cars; I’m the perfect passenger (I don’t try to drive). On a leash, I pay attention to what my handler expects of me. I’m curious about other dogs, but I don’t engage. I do have an ongoing medical condition, but with my special kibble and your special love, life can be good. How about sharing that good life with me!
