Hi… my name is Sugar,

Adopted 11-11-20

After I was rescued and taken to a safe place, I was brought to TALGV to find my forever home. Even though I have a few things to learn, I already know how to use the doggie door. I also know how to enjoy the finer things in life like food, a pleasant walk (which I do well), enjoyable playtimes, and last but not least, love. I’m a very happy, affectionate girl and have quickly earned the reputation around here of being very “sweet.” Since we’re on that subject, are you looking for something sweet? Would you like a little SUGAR added to your life? That would be ME! Why don’t you call and make an appointment so we can meet and I’ll show you how I live up to my name.

Hi… my name is Tiny,

Adopted 11-14-20

I may bark at you at first when you come to visit me, but please don’t take that the wrong way, because I am just telling you that I’m excited to see you! All I want is for you to play with me and maybe scratch my ears and my belly for a bit. I’ve been told that I am a really good dog: I’ve gotten along with kids, other dogs and even kitties. I already know some commands really well—like sit and stay—and I can learn more. Can you teach me? I also know how to walk nicely on a leash, and we could do some of my favorite things together, like going for a walk or for a run in the park. Can we do that real soon?

Hi… my name is Ritz,

Adopted with Biltmore 12-14-20

When you’ve been living outside in a mobile home park with dozens of other cats to compete with, it isn’t exactly a dream life. Although a wonderful woman tried to care for us as best she could, “one-on-one” time was pretty rare. Well, my babies are on their own now, so I’m enjoying the attention of the volunteers and am trying to imagine what a life with just one person all to myself would be like. I’m an unusual white and black 3-year-old with curious half-and-half black/white ears, a huge “beauty mark” on my chin, and a graceful bearing. I’m absolutely, positively sure that I’ll forget all about my past with you by my side!

Hi… my name is Tio Guero,

Adopted 12-6-20

Do you know that I am famous? My picture was on the front page of the TALGV newsletter! I’m the handsome one on the left, by the way. Where I used to live I didn’t meet too many new people. That’s why I’m still a bit shy around strangers. I like being petted, and deep down I am a really friendly guy, but I need you to give me some time to get to know you. I am also learning to walk nicely on a leash and the volunteers here are teaching me commands like “sit” and “stay” and other stuff. I think I’m pretty smart, so I’ll get the hang of it soon! Now that my two sisters have found their forever home, I’m looking for mine. Can we try together?

Hi… my name is Linus,

Adopted 12-20-20

Even though I was found rolling in the dirt in a desert area near Wal-Mart, it’s evident that I belonged to someone pretty recently as I was in too good a shape to have been a longtime stray. That being said, no one has come looking for me, so as the tune goes, “I’m available…!” (Why is it that when people lose dogs, they automatically contact local shelters, but not so much for cats?) Anyhow, I’d like to say that my middle name isn’t “subtle,” ‘cause when I want attention I’ll sure let you know (and, conversely, when I’m done, well…). So why not do your Good Samaritan thing and give me a new home!

Hi… my name is Princess B,

Adopted with Creed 2-28-21

My brother, Creed, and I were returned to TALGV after twice escaping over a 6-foot fence. I’m a 5-year-old female Boxer and I’m gentle and enjoy being around children of various ages. I also enjoy the companionship of other members of the house. I can use the doggie door and I’m crate trained and ask to go out. I sit when asked and understand the word “no.” I’m leash trained and enjoy going for walks, but I’m not allowed to chase rabbits or javelina. I‘m not allowed to chase cats either, so a cat-free environment would be best. I obviously need a secure enclosure that I can’t climb over and if you have this, please call for an appointment to meet me. I’m certain you will be happy you did!
