Hi… my name is Richie,

Adopted with Joanie 8-16-19

I was found with my best dog friend, Joanie, and you could say we just appeared out of the blue. We were strays—I had no ID, no microchip—and we were hungry. Each of us was too thin, dirty, and in need of human kindness, which we have received in abundance here (along with an extra meal every day for a while). Today, I’m happy, feeling good, and looking Boxer-handsome. And all along—from the very first day—I’ve been an exceptionally sweet guy. Whether it’s with Joanie or with people, I’m loyal and loving; a dog who likes to give and get affection. And if you enjoy fun at playtime, we have that in common! So let’s meet—you, Joanie and me—and see if there’s a happily-ever-after for all of us together!

Hi… my name is Joanie,

Adopted with Richie 8-16-19

Today, I’m a gentle, extraordinary dog—best friends with Richie, one of the sweetest canines ever—with a story to share. Back in 2017, a wonderful man, who knew my life had been hard, gave me extra attention. Over time, he’d done this for 45 dogs (!), and said I became one of the best dogs they’d ever had—“quiet, mellow, well behaved, and very social with other dogs.” But when they returned to Minnesota, I was adopted to someone else. What happened next is uncertain, but somehow Richie and I ended up as hungry strays, lucky to be here today. My friends say I now deserve my happily-ever-after, and I say Richie does, too. So if your heart guides you to us, I promise we’ll gladly bring our grateful love to your life forever.

Hi… my name is Annie (aka Ebbie),

Adopted 5-1-19

It’s true – you’re never too old to learn new tricks. People might think that leash training is just for dogs; but I’m here to refute that! The volunteers thought I could do with a bit of extra exercise, so I’m spending some time walking the halls, checking everything out, and (pretty much) loving it! My older mom couldn’t care for me any longer, so now I’m yours for the taking. I’m a totally delightful, inquisitive, declawed 9-year-old Maine Coon, who’s lived with (but pretty much ignored) another cat and dog. I love being held, giving kisses, and am very inquisitive, so if your life is lacking that “certain something,” I know exactly what it is!

Hi… my name is Sunshine,

Adopted 4-28-19

Note: Bio needs revision

Huskies are known for being friendly and that’s my forte. I wear my heart on my sleeve because I want you to know that I have more than enough affection to go around! When rescued from the street, I carried evidence of tough times in the past—my right ear has healed but you can see where it was torn, and one of my nails had been injured, too. But whatever happened, it didn’t stop me from loving people. And when you love me back, I’m the happiest dog around. I’m a very sweet Husky mix female, a slender 55 pounds, and I speak Husky—almost a soprano sound, and have those beautiful blue eyes that seem to say, “I’ll build my world around you.” And I will—as soon as I’m yours!

Hi… my name is Charley (aka Charlotte),

Adopted 5-19-19

First, in my case Charley is short for Charlotte. I’m a girl Charley—a high-spirited, loves-your-attention female who looks like a Lab/Whippet mix. My former person said I needed a more active home, one with lots of room to run and play, and that sounds great to me! She also said I “ask” to go outside (no accidents since early puppyhood), and understand sit, come, stay, and down. I’m called very smart and independent, so even more training could be fun for me. But you should know that other dogs scare me, and I’ve never been with children. What do I know and like? That’s easy—rides, peanut butter, and the active life. Born in 2017, slender and sweet, I’d love to bring my energy to your happy days, so let’s get together real soon!

Hi… my name is Patrice,

Adopted 5-4-19

I was found out on a road, all alone, and very shy at first. Everyone here said that was understandable after such a scary experience. So they were gentle with me, and within just a few days of getting acquainted, I blossomed! Knowing I was safe, I became confident enough to start showing the real me: Energetic, smart, and eager to make friends. The volunteers say my beautiful coat is soft; they like petting me and I love that kind of affection. They also say I appear to be an Aussie mix, but at just 27 pounds (and already 2 years old), I’m a small-medium size—every pound packed with personality. If you could love a lively dog, who wants to get and give lots of attention, we may be made for each other!

Hi… my name is Piper,

Adopted 8-24-18

OK, no one likes a bully, but I’m really only that way when I’m not the alpha cat (dogs are fine though)! Well, the simple solution of course is to make me your “one and only” My mom said I require LOTS of attention and love to “knead on” my person, to snuggle and sleep next to you, and ADORE playing with a laser pointer. I’m shy with new people, but once you’re mine, well, Katie, bar the door! And of course in the looks department, I can pretty much claim top spot – with my long, silky white and orange coat (that’s the Turkish Van coming out), I’m a looker par excellence! With a bit of patience I’ll soon be the love of your life!

Hi… my name is Sophie,

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

I’m a senior dog, one who’s been called “spunky” more than once, and that’s a good thing when you’re in my paws. You see, my person died recently, and after a brief stay with a hospice nurse (her dog and I didn’t see eye to eye), I came here to find a new home and, most importantly, a new someone to love. Born in June 2005, (I come with FREE Vet Care for Life!), I’ve learned a lot along the way. I’m leash-trained, use a doggie door, and know the fun of playing with toys. I’ve been called gentle and tolerant with small children, very calm when alone, and sweet company for my person. So shall we meet? If we find each adorable—I’m willing if you are—we could be very happy together.
