When I first arrived here, I barely moved. I’d been found on the street, my coat was unkempt, and I appear to have some hearing and perhaps vision loss. I was so scared. But if you’re feeling sorry for me, we need to change keys—mine isn’t a sad song anymore because I was rescued! And now, after a little adjustment time, I’m perking up. I’m happy when my walker arrives, enjoy those outdoor strolls, and inside, I sometimes make my own fun—like making “toys” out of my blankets before taking a nap on them. Now that both of my people have health and mobility issues, and although it broke their hearts to say it, they think I deserve a less stressful home, where I can get regular exercise and I’m the only dog. When someone stopped to help us, I was shyer than the other dog but equally relieved to be rescued from the road. Then came another tremendous relief: Settling in here with my own water dish, regular food, and a comfy bed. Now they say that for me—a guy who’s a sweet combination of shy and friendly by nature—there’ll be an even better place: A forever home, where love lives, and I can be the devoted companion to my favorite someone ever. I’m a 1-year-old Staffie mix male, black with cool white markings, 60 pounds, handsome, lovable, and oh-so ready to be yours.
