Hi… my name is Kidd (aka Kitty),

Adopted 4-29-18

I’ll let my mom toot my horn: “He’s all you’d want in a companion – laid back, playful, kittenlike, and independent – all as the mood strikes. He loves to play fetch with his toys (he’s better at it than most dogs!), likes to follow me around, isn’t much of a meower, likes to sleep on my arm at night, and is a loving lap kitty who’s pretty quiet most of the time.” When she had to move into a friend’s apartment, it was a place that I wasn’t allowed to go, and although she was very sad to lose me, she knew that all my delightful qualities would guarantee another human falling in love. I’m only 2½ years old and have a wonderful feline-type surprise in store for you!

Hi… my name is Magoo,

Adopted 7-3-19

When I was found running in a parking lot with an 11-pound Terrier—I’m a 64-pound Boxer/Staffie mix—my finders thought I looked friendly. After all, I was very sweet with that little dog and, sure enough, when they offered, I jumped right in the car. Here at TALGV, the little dog was quickly adopted, so I have high hopes for the same good luck. Mind you, I came in needing some touch-ups—I was too thin when found, so I love the regular meals here. Also, I didn’t show any leash experience, but being eager to please makes me eager to learn, so training is fun! And my strong suit remains the same: I’m a friendly, playful, very sweet guy, a handsome 2-year-old who loves you already. May we please go home together today?

Hi… my name is Chiquita,

Adopted 5-2-18

I’m a playful, energetic, friendly dog. Smart, too, people say, and when a volunteer started training me, she was impressed by how attentive I can be. It’s no secret why. My former people said they didn’t have time to walk me or help me learn things. I lived outdoors and knew lots of lonely days. But I didn’t give up! Now, when I meet new people here, I have fun showing how happy I am just to be with them. As a 1-1/2-year old female, 52 pounds, I’m active, eager to please, and when I look up at you with my big brown eyes, I hope you’ll see how much I want to make you happy, too. And if you make me yours and take me home, I’ll bring all my love to share.

Hi… my name is Sparky Boy (aka Lucky Boy),

Adopted 5-5-18

Sparky Boy has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

If you’re looking for a tough, demanding dog, as the song says, “it ain’t me, babe.” I’m the easygoing, let’s-be-friends-and-have-fun kind of guy. Even the dad who returned me said I was “really mellow most of the time.” But, after six months together, I was lying down and a 2-year-old child ‘got in my face.’ When I told her in dog language not to do that, her dad objected and brought me back to TALGV. That’s okay. I am mellow, and know that my perfect family will find me here. (They’ll be glad to know that on my intake exam, even when they took my temperature, I just relaxed and grinned.) I’m a black and white Staffie mix male, 63 pounds, very popular here at TALGV, but wanting only to be loved by you.

Hi… my name is Matilda,

Adopted 7-8-18

Matilda has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

As an active, playful 1-year-old, I know how to have fun. On the other hand (or paw), I also know what it is to be scared and lonely. I was lost, and that was no fun at all. Fortunately, a kind man rescued me, but he already had dogs at home. Then I was adopted by a senior couple; they called me “a great dog,” and noted that I’m housebroken, which people really appreciate, but said I was too young and strong for them. So now I’m here, making new friends, training (which is fun, too), and watching people go by, wondering if that’s the person who’ll love me. I just know you’re out there—enjoying an active, good life, and looking for the right dog to share it. Please let it be me!

Hi… my name is Socks,

Adopted 1-5-19

Socks has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

I came here with my long-time buddy Irwin, a little Rat Terrier mix. We’d lived happily together with our person, but then she needed to move and couldn’t take us along. Now, my little buddy has found his new home and so I’m ready for my turn. I’m a 7-year-old Lab mix female, tan and white with big brown eyes, and very accustomed to sharing my home. Indeed, you know how dogs love having a job? Well, I think mine is being someone’s devoted companion—keeping each other company, taking walks together, being the loyal friend who’s always glad to be with you. I’m housetrained, leash-trained, have Free Vet Care for Life, and there’s one more thing: For me, life isn’t complete without someone to love, so I’m asking: Will you be my someone?

Hi… my name is Katie (aka Jamie),

Adopted 6-16-18

The world is full of sweet, understanding people, which is why I believe I’ll find my perfect home even though I’m not an “everyone” kind of dog. Most noises scare me, crowds do, too, and I haven’t been good with some children. But you know what I do very well? Cuddle on your lap. Indeed, for the right grown-up person or couple—patient and kind—I’ll be a very loving, devoted companion who asks only for a quiet home, a couple of toys, and a lap to snuggle in. I’m a 5-year-old, 13-pound female with a gray and white wavy coat. One of my front legs is crooked, but I’m used to that, and here’s hoping you’ll find me adorable in my own little way. If so, may I be your little dog forever?
