Hi… my name is Xena,

Some dogs charge into life like it’s a parade. Me? I’m a little more cautious with new things…and new people. When my family lost their home, I suddenly found myself at TALGV, unsure of who to trust or what would happen next. At first, I kept my distance, but a kind doggie roommate has helped me remember that the world can be gentle, too. With my days as a mother behind me, I now enjoy slow walks, soft beds, and quiet company. I don’t need excitement; I just want a safe place to rest my head and finally discover what it feels like to be cared for just for me. If you’re looking for more of a gentle soul vs. Warrior Princess, I may be perfect for you!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Meteor,

Yeah, my head enters the room a full three seconds before the rest of my body. People wonder if doorways need to be widened for me to fit through. In reality, the only thing “impactful” about me is my snuggle game. I came to TALGV when my family lost their home, and suddenly my whole world changed. I’m still figuring it out—new smells, new friends, and this magical thing called a “walk.” Speaking of walks, since I’m built like a tank, I sometimes steer like one, too. But I’m mastering my leash manners and impressing everyone with my progress. I’ve not been a fan of meeting other dogs thus far, but I may not have met the right one yet. If you’ve got space in your heart, I’d love to meteor-shower you with love.

Hi… my name is Foxtrot,

Adopted 11-21-25

Big dog energy, compact body—that’s me. I’ve got confidence, charisma, and ears so impressive they could pick up Wi-Fi. I was found with my pal Whiskey while we were testing our “road-crossing strategy” on a busy street. It took four humans, infinite patience, and roughly 732 treats to catch us—clearly, I’m worth the effort. I love walks, adventures, and people who appreciate a dog with personality and opinions. I’m affectionate on my terms—once you’re in my circle, I’m all in. A secure yard is a must, unless you’ve always wanted to say your dog can clear four feet in a single bound. I’m funny, fearless, and full of life—ready to bring big joy to the lucky humans who call me theirs.

Hi… my name is Whiskey,

Adopted 11-26-25

Like the liquor I’m named after, I’m smooth, mellow, and best savored slowly. I was found with my pal Foxtrot, but these days I’m charting my own course—and doing just fine. I’m the thoughtful type: quiet observer first, cuddle connoisseur later.  It took four humans and a mountain of treats to lure me off a busy road, and honestly, I regret nothing—those snacks were top-shelf. I like people, I just prefer to make the first move. Once I do, expect belly rub requests, leisurely strolls, and a heart-melting lean that says you’re my person. If you appreciate quiet loyalty, good manners, and a dash of dry humor, I’m your Whiskey—no mixer required.

Hi… my name is Sadie,

Adopted 11-25-25

Ever show up on someone’s porch and accidentally stay for two months? Yeah… that was me. I wandered into a kind home in Rio Rico, but it turned out I needed more room to bloom, so they brought me to TALGV to find my perfect match. At first, I was so shy I practically tried to blend into the wall. Then—bam!—I got a roommate, and suddenly I had my very own emotional support canine friend. With a new buddy by my side, I discovered people aren’t scary at all. Now I greet my human friends with full-body wiggles and happily trot out on walks with both two- and four-legged pals. I’m still figuring out who I’ll become, but one thing’s certain—I’d really love to meet YOU.

Hi… my name is Shadow,

Ever wanted your very own horse that fits on the couch? That’s me! I’m part gentle giant, part goofball, and all heart. Sure, I might look like I could pull a wagon, but I’m actually easy to walk and happiest when I’m leaning my whole body against you for what I call “subtle” affection. A kind human brought my buddy and me to TALGV after finding us wandering without ID, wallet, or a phone. If only we had pockets! I’m about two years old, full of life, and equal parts semi-athletic and nap connoisseur. I adore people, and a friendly dog companion would be icing on my already large cake. If you’ve ever dreamed of adopting a lovable goofball in an XXL package, I’ll be more than your Shadow—I’ll be your best friend for life!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Charlie,

Adopted 11-28-25

If I look like I’m smiling, it’s because I am! Life’s too short not to wag your tail and make new friends. I was found exploring with a canine buddy, and I’ve been charming everyone I meet ever since. I’m a medium-sized pup full of sunshine with a red coat that practically glows in the desert light. I’m friendly with people, polite with other dogs, and always up for a good walk or a backyard game. I might have a herding breed or two in me—so don’t be surprised if I try to “organize” your household (especially the kids). I’m smart, social, and happiest when I’m part of the action. If your household could use a cheerful life coach with fur, four paws, and impeccable social skills, look no further—I’m your guy.

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

I’m a gentle soul with a big heart, just waiting to meet my forever person. Life’s been confusing lately—my human passed away—but I know there’s someone out there who’s ready to love me as much as I’ll love them. At first, I might be a little shy. It takes me a couple of weeks to relax and trust, but once I do, my eyes will tell you how grateful I am. I’m the kind of pup who just wants to be near you, quietly keeping you company and soaking up every bit of kindness. I’m housetrained and, like most dogs, might need a little time to learn the routine in a new home—but I’ll get it quickly. I walk nicely on a leash, rarely bark, and promise to fill your days with calm, loyal love. Bonus: I come with Vet Care Support for Life!
