Hi… my name is Tilly,

Adopted 8-19-17

TALGV sure has a lot of great volunteers! When I first arrived it was apparent that I was soon to be a mama, so I got to go home with one of them until my kittens were born, weaned, and off to new homes. Well, I’m happy to report that my mothering is done (forever!) and now I’m ready to be on my own with a human or two and (and even another critter, since I did “tolerate” them in my foster home!). While not exactly the glued-to-your-lap type, I am affectionate and playful, and I love to check out visitors when they arrive. I’m just two years old, with a charming grey “hat” and tail, and I’d love to “let it all hang out” with you!

Hi… my name is Gypsy,

Adopted 9-2-17

I was adopted as a sweet little puppy and today I’m a sweet 2-1/2-year old, but my people can’t keep me anymore. Their new Florida landlord says I can’t live with them there. So I’m going to give my heart to someone new and hope this time it’s forever! I’m a playful, loving, tan and white Staffie mix female, 27 pounds. I’ve not lived with children, but my former people said I was gentle and tolerant. I can jump high and do not get along with cats, but I love playing with my toys and sleeping with my blankie. I’m crate-trained, “ask” to go outside, behave well in the house, and do many other things just to please you. Give me the chance and I’ll be the best dog I can be for you.

Hi… my name is Sara,

Adopted 3-11-19

Sara has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Born in late 2013, I have grown into a smart, loving, playful petite Staffie mix. My friends say I am a star. My dream is to one day have a forever home and be a lap dog so if you’re game, I’m the one for you. I need your time because I can be anxious if left alone too long. I would do best in a home with a doggie door. I’ve been good with children and teens and have lived with children in the past. My friends think that I am unfriendly towards other dogs, but I am willing to work on that. The cold can be hard on me, so if you have a warm heart and home, you’re the one for me. I will be an awesome addition to your family.

Hi… my name is Search,

Adopted 2-23-19

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

When a door closes on one part of your life, you hope for the miracle of another one opening on a new beginning. At 18 years old, I’m “a smidge” past the prime of my life, but you know what they say, everyone gets a turn at blushing youth, but at the end of the day looks aren’t worth much – it’s experience that counts! My dad couldn’t care for me any longer so the good folks here are doing their best to be sure I find a loving home with someone who understands the needs of us “senior” folk (my free vet care will help with that too!). All I ask is someone to share life’s slower pace (and a lap!) with and I’ll be happy!

Hi… my name is Mickey,

Adopted 7-20-17

Mom was expecting when she was found (thank goodness!) and I was one of her five babies. The family that cared for us included 4 children, ages 1 through 10, with whom I was gentle and tolerant. But after six months, the time came for us to find our own homes. I especially loved my sister and it was hard saying goodbye to her, plus I was shy with strangers, so even though I looked good—a handsome male with a shiny black coat, 17 pounds at 7 months old—I was scared at first. Fortunately, I’m now coming into my own, learning to walk on a leash and how to do the things good dogs do! If you’ll kindly help me grow and learn, I’ll happily be your loyal and loving companion forever!

Hi… my name is Taco,

Adopted 6-1-17

When our home changed to include three small children (2 and 3 years old) and two dogs (both bigger than me), I wasn’t as comfortable as I had been. My person said I couldn’t handle the small kids anymore, and so it was decided I’d better find a new home. Right now, things have been kind of scary; I’m a little guy—7 years old, just 15-1/2 pounds. You can imagine how much I’d love to snuggle in your lap, if that’s okay with you. Indeed, I’d like to be your lap dog every day! We can go on walks, too—I’m leash trained and housebroken (in my former home I’d stand by the door to “ask” to go outside). I really just want to be someone’s good dog forever. Won’t you make me yours?

Hi… my name is Mido,

Adopted 9-4-17

There’s no denying it, the first thing you’ll notice about me is that I’m, ahem, “rather large.” Okay, BIG! Twenty-three pounds to exact, so you can say with complete assurance that I’m not a picky eater (I’ve been on a diet recently and that’s helped a lot)! My dad took my housemate, Raggio, and me from my first family when they were transferred and only had us three weeks before bringing us to TALGV. To be fair, he did try (and said that I had a “good temperament”), but that just isn’t enough time for most cats to adjust to new circumstances, so I’m hoping another family will be more patient and let me prove that I really can be a companion extraordinaire!

Hi… my name is Ruby,

Adopted 7-11-17

“Very friendly.” That’s just one of the compliments given to me by the kind stranger who found me in the parking lot of a local store. I was lost, wandering among the cars and people, and it was scary! Fortunately, although my rescuers knew they couldn’t keep me, they took me home for a day and discovered how truly friendly I am. I was very sweet with children and other dogs, they said, and love to cuddle (oh, so true!). I’m a 1-1/2-year-old Staffie mix female, about 47 pounds with a sleek black and white coat, who’s lively and playful. When the volunteers arrive to take me for a walk, I’m so excited I sometimes jump for joy! Can you imagine how happy I’ll be if you say to me, “Sweetie, let’s go home!”
