Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

Most of the time it’s fun being a little guy like me—a great size for playing, cuddling, and even getting close enough to give kisses (which I love). But not long ago, I was in big trouble—a little guy lost and alone. Fortunately, I found my way into the yard of a kind man who removed the cactus needles in my paws, gave me food and water, and brought me here to safety. So now I’m enjoying the comforts of indoor living again, plus daily walks, being told I’m handsome every day, and dreaming of the best place of all—a home made wonderful by love. I’m a 21-pound Dachshund mix male, 10-1/2 years old so I come with free vet care for life and a heart I’ll gladly give to you.

Hi… my name is Johnny,

Adopted by Soldier’s Best Friend 11-27-17

I was found on Duval Mine Road, so maybe I was trying to find the Animal League. Fortunately, my rescuer brought me here and I’ve been making new friends ever since. The volunteer who did my intake physical exam described me as “adorable.” (High praise from the person who took my temperature!) “Soft, and easy,” she added. One of the walkers described me as “peaceful,” and when you visit, you might say good things about my calm, friendly nature. I do enjoy activity and since I’m a social guy, sharing that activity with my people is top of my list. At 84 pounds, I’m a big Chocolate Lab mix male with a big heart to match. And since I’m just 2 years old, we could go down many happy trails in our future together.

Hi… my name is Rillita,

Adopted 1-16-18

“She was a little skeleton with toenail nubs.” Can you believe that was me just a little over two years ago? Today, I’m an energetic 2-1/2-year-old Staffie mix female, a nice size at 50 pounds, and my rescuer says I’m “the sweetest little cuddlebug and so smart!” I love that cuddly part because I love being close to my person and even give hugs! As for smart, well, I thank my trainers who taught me house manners, how to walk on a leash, and several commands; I learn quickly with food. There were many dogs and lots of excitement at my former home, so it was decided I’d do better in another place, which is tough now, but I just know there’s someone who could love a smart cuddlebug like me forever. Maybe you?

Hi… my name is David,

Adopted 1-21-18

I was found near Green Valley Hospital, but the kind of care I needed wasn’t medical. Turned out, I’d been given away when my person moved out of state and then not kept. But you know what? I’m only 1 year old, so a disappointing beginning is only that—my happy story can start now. Granted, for you, choosing a dog can get complicated if you’re considering size, gender, age, even coat and color. For me, though, it’s simple—I just want a kind someone who appreciates my good qualities and will let me love them forever. I’m a Pointer/Staffie mix male, distinctive looking with my friendly face, and my black and white speckled coat, and I’d love to meet you, because I think once together, we’ll want to share all our happy tomorrows.

Hi… my name is Maxine,

We all understand that young pups need attention and training, and they earn it mainly by being so adorable. Well, I’m on the other end of that spectrum. Oh, I hope you find me adorable, too, but I’m 10 years old now and so I’m best at relaxing walks and quiet times by your side. I’m already leash trained, get along with cats and children, and described as gentle and tolerant. When first here, I was terribly shy, but quickly responded to kindness from friendly people. You may also like to know that I come with Free Vet Care for Life! I’m a very sweet Border Collie mix female, about 45 pounds, who’ll respond to your love by giving you mine, and I imagine lots of happy tomorrows spent together. Shall we start today?

Hi… my name is Firecracker,

Adopted 10-23-17

My happy little life had a dramatic and dangerous beginning. When we were just days old, my brothers and I were part of a remarkable rescue—twelve dogs (including six newborns) found in a vacant house without food or water in triple-digit heat. Our TALGV friends worked frantically to save us all and they succeeded! Of course, our mom was helping the whole time, and she will always be our number one hero. When rescued, I weighed about 1 pound. Today, I’ve grown to 6.8 pounds, part of which is my curly blond-and-white coat (Mom was a Poodle mix). I’m now a playful, energetic, 4-month-old male puppy with lots to learn, so some patience and training required, but if I promise to stay adorable forever (and I do), may my happily-ever-after-home be with you?

Hi… my name is Kimber,

Adopted 8-2-18

Kimber has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate.

Once a lost dog wandering the streets of Chicago, I was rescued and moved to Arizona. (Pleasant surprise: There are lots of Chicago Cubs fans here.) When my person couldn’t keep me anymore, I came to TALGV, glad to be making new friends while looking for that special someone who’ll be my lifelong friend. Maybe you can see the hope in my big brown eyes. If we become acquainted, you’ll know I’m affectionate and sweet with my person, love bath time, and like to snuggle under a soft blanket. I also know some commands and will usually quiet down when you say, “shhh.” A tan, 9-1/2-year-old Staffie mix female, about 40 pounds, I’d love to be your lap dog, but will be forever happy just being by your side as your loyal, loving companion.

Hi… my name is Wesson,

Adopted 9-29-18

Wesson has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Your attention and affection make me so happy, sometimes you’ll see me give you my best doggie smile. I love belly rubs, being petted, and—full disclosure—I’ll sleep right beside you given the chance. (It’s okay to put my cushion on the floor so there’s room for you in the bed.) I also love to learn, which is how I earned my AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate, awarded for excellence in the behavior department! I’m a 4-year-old Staffie mix male, down to 75 pounds on a nutritious diet and still strong. I wasn’t raised around children, but when I met two young boys here, my behavior with them was “wonderful.” I’m best as your only dog, and if you let that dream come true, I’ll try to make you smile every day, too.

Hi… my name is Lucky,

Adopted 1-13-18

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life.

It’s tempting to be philosophical about my name. Was I terribly unlucky to have been abandoned with my son, Buddy, and not found until we were malnourished? Or was I lucky to have been found in time? I opt for lucky because we’re here now, where friends will help each of us find a comfy home with caring, loving people. I’ve been shy with strangers, but a gentle, quiet manner wins me over, (treats help, too), and once we’re okay with each other, I love your soft touch under my chin or petting my head. Easy, slow walks together are wonderful, too. I’m an 11-year-old Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix female with a gorgeous face and golden brown coat, 58 pounds, who comes with FREE Vet Care for Life and a heart yearning to be yours.
