There once was a group of dogs who lived a hard knock life. I know because I was one of them. We had each other, but were never allowed in the house—no matter the weather. And even as puppies, we worked hard just to stay safe. Then, one magical day, our lives changed. Friendly, gentle people came to visit, brought us yummy treats, and helped us move. Today I live indoors, eat well, and sleep on a comfy bed. There’s a change in my heart, too, because now I dare to dream of my very own home—a place where people will want me to play, have fun, and share their happy, loving life. I recently gave birth to three adorable puppies, each of whom now has their own home. I was a good mother, protective and nurturing, but it was my second litter in a very short time and so I’m relieved to know it was also my last. Indeed, when I was pregnant, because the other dogs in the house irritated me, I had to live outside until coming here. On the other hand, my family said I was gentle and tolerant with the children (ages 3, 7, 8 and 12). And although I haven’t had the benefit of training, I walk well on a leash and once comfortable with you, I’m your happy little companion. Won’t you please give me—a 2-year-old, 15-pound, black Chihuahua mix female—the chance to make you smile every day.

Blackie and I were buddies at first woof. I was already living with our mom when he wandered onto the property and we welcomed him with open arms (and paws). Blackie and I have been best friends ever since, sticking together after Mom’s death and now looking for a forever home for two. We have a lot in common—both playful, housebroken, leash-trained males, I’m 4 and he’s 3, and our personalities complement each other; I’m especially sweet and loving, and Blackie is a bit more adventurous (needs training not to climb a fence). Together, we’re a bonded pair—we play together and keep each other company—two dogs who dream of one home where we share the joy of being family with people, too.
