Hi… my name is Canoa,

Adopted 9-17-17

Sometimes being sweet and adorable isn’t enough to keep you safe. I was found alone and vulnerable at the Canoa Ranch Rest Stop—very scared, hungry, with an injured hip, abrasions and lacerations. Wow. Was that really me? Today, I’m a happy guy enjoying comfy, carefree days. The volunteers say I am friendly, get along with other dogs, and I’m very fond of my people friends, too. My wounds have healed and although my hip isn’t perfect, I get around just fine. And through it all, I’ve continued to be sweet and adorable—a fawn-colored, 2-year-old Terrier mix male, 22 pounds, for whom the best is surely yet to come. And I’m hoping here’s where you come into my story, adding what I still need most—love forever and a happily-ever-after home with you.

Hi… my name is Lilo,

Adopted 9-23-17

For someone who recently gave birth to 11 puppies—yes, 11 babies in one litter!—I’m now delightfully close to feeling carefree. My human family found homes for eight of my puppies, but they were moving and couldn’t keep the rest of us, so, thank goodness, there was room for us here. We arrived hungry and I was very thin, but we soon thrived on our “three squares.” At 42 pounds, I’m now svelte in a good way—a nice size for a 2-year-old female (whose “mama days” will soon be behind her). In the past, I played well with 14- and 15-year-old kids, and here at TALGV, I’m a sweet dog to my new friends, good on a leash, and eager to find someone to love forever. Will you please be my someone?

Hi… my name is Murphy,

Adopted 11-2-17

There once was a group of dogs who lived a hard knock life. I know because I was one of them. We had each other, but were never allowed in the house—no matter the weather. And even as puppies, we worked hard just to stay safe. Then, one magical day, our lives changed. Friendly, gentle people came to visit, brought us yummy treats, and helped us move. Today I live indoors, eat well, and sleep on a comfy bed. There’s a change in my heart, too, because now I dare to dream of my very own home—a place where people will want me to play, have fun, and share their happy, loving life. I’m a little shy but super sweet Heeler male, and you’ll become my forever hero the day you make me yours!

Hi… my name is Bo,

Adopted 10-16-17

Bo comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

If you’ve ever wondered why people love their Labs so much, my buddy Luke and I will be happy to show you. (If you already know lovable Labs, that’s even better!) We’re friendly, intelligent, eager to please, trusting and loyal companions. As for me in particular, at age 13, I truly enjoy the good life—daily exercise, play time, nap time, and someone to share it all with. Plus, I have Free Vet Care for Life! For years, I lived with Luke, a black Lab, (together except when eating), and Dad was very sad to leave us, but his new home already has as many dogs as allowed. So here I am—a calm, sweet, 62-pound yellow Lab male, ready to be your partner in the good life if you just say the word.

Hi… my name is Sandy,

Adopted 9-23-17

I recently gave birth to three adorable puppies, each of whom now has their own home. I was a good mother, protective and nurturing, but it was my second litter in a very short time and so I’m relieved to know it was also my last. Indeed, when I was pregnant, because the other dogs in the house irritated me, I had to live outside until coming here. On the other hand, my family said I was gentle and tolerant with the children (ages 3, 7, 8 and 12). And although I haven’t had the benefit of training, I walk well on a leash and once comfortable with you, I’m your happy little companion. Won’t you please give me—a 2-year-old, 15-pound, black Chihuahua mix female—the chance to make you smile every day.
