I can be a very well-behaved fellow, and I’m also a lively, energetic dog who can play like there’s no tomorrow! My rescuer found me near a casino, just walking down the street alone. He took me home that night and gave me food and water; I was too thin when found, so his kindness was much appreciated. He said I was okay being with his shepherd mix dog, and already knew some commands, like “sit,” “paw,” and “lay down.” After coming to TALGV, I’ve enjoyed hearing the volunteers say my handsome appearance makes me look dignified, but please remember that I’m playful, too, and love to have fun. I’m an 18-month-old Staffie mix male, tan and white, 50+ pounds, who’s eager to give all the best parts of me to you!

Sunny

SUNNY is a playful and smart 55-pound 2-year-old Shepherd/ Husky mix who needs a new home as rescuer is unable to keep her. She has a beautiful white coat, is housebroken, and asks to go out. She is spayed, is up to date with shots, and is microchipped. Sunny walks on leash, knows “back” and “wait” and is working on other commands and house manners, but she learns quickly when treats are rewarded. She is a bit slow to warm up but wants to be friendly with people. Sunny needs lots of exercise and a secure fenced-in yard is advisable; she would do best with another dog of same size to play with but can be protective of owner. There is no adoption fee for this special girl.

I had puppies not too long ago, so I know about that big responsibility—making sure everyone is present and accounted for, fed and protected. But now that my pups are growing and moving on to their own homes, I can relax a bit and enjoy a little extra attention for me, too! I’d almost forgotten how nice it is to have someone pet your head, take you for a walk in the sunshine, and talk kindly. Some of that kind talk is complimentary about my big brown eyes and soft blonde coat, but mainly I just love the company. My adorable sister, Cher, and I were adopted three months ago, when we were 3-month-old puppies, but that didn’t work out. The people said we were too active, so I’ll be completely upfront in telling you I am an active 6-month-old puppy. I love playing with my sister and our toys, I’m curious about the world around me, and have the energy and eagerness to learn good-dog things to please you! Already, I know to sit when you say to (usually), and am getting good at walking on a leash. My best features? I’d say being fun-loving, sometimes just plain funny, and my cute puppy personality. My person and I were together almost three years, since I was 2 months old, when I suddenly lost him. After his death, relatives brought me here, where volunteers have helped me understand the big change. Their company has meant so much to me, including the great back scratches they give. It helps that I’m a good listener; my many new friends can tell you that I always enjoy being talked to and petted. My person’s family also reported I know “sit” and “paw” (shake hands), will alert to strangers, guarded my food, and was gentle with a 16-year-old young person at home. I’m a handsome, leash-trained Staffie mix male, about 80 pounds, hoping my adorable face appeals to you because I’ll look at you with love every day if you make me yours.
