Hi… my name is Marano,

Adopted January 3, 2016

You can tell by my at-attention ears that I’m very interested in the world around me—including you. And I’m glad if you find that charming; in my own quiet, dignified way, I love making a human-dog connection. Just ask the people who gave me shelter when I was lost one rainy winter’s day. In our short time together, they found that I’m obedient to “sit,” “go outside,” and will raise my paw to shake hands. I also walk well on a leash, probably because someone taught me, but also because it’s just in my nature to be a good partner. I’m a young Shepherd/Heeler mix male, about 2 years old, 61 pounds, mainly black, some speckled with white; a striking combination of handsome, smart and lovable, and I’m ready to be all yours.

Hi… my name is Queenie,

Adopted 6-1-17

Queenie has achieved her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate!

I was found walking down the middle of the road, frightfully thin and having recently given birth. Sadly, puppies were not found, but my finders kindly brought me here. Now the volunteers and I have gotten to know each other, and I sure hope you and I will, too. I’m a 40-pound female, single and loving it, which means I should be your only dog. You could also say I’m kind of a mirror because I often reflect the demeanor of the person I’m with. If you’re calm, I’m inclined to be that way, too. Around someone who’s boisterous, I’ll likely reflect that behavior. Most of all, I want to make you happy. As one person who knows me said, “Queenie is a big love!” Won’t you give me the chance to be yours?

Hi… my name is Nathan,

Adopted February 6, 2016

Is it really darkest before the dawn? You could say it was for me. I was in real danger—hurt, left alone on a scary road—when I was rescued and brought to TALGV. All of a sudden, I was important. They gave me food, water, and gentle care, took me to a doctor, and then my very special foster people took me to their place. They’re teaching me good-to-know dog things; we go on long walks and cuddle every day. They say I’m a real sweetie, which is easy when you like people as much as I do. So that’s me up till now—a tan Hound mix male, 33 pounds—who’d love to meet you real soon. I think the best is yet to be, the day we get together forever!

Arrived December 12, 2015.

Hi… my name is Hugo,

Adopted December 19, 2015

Lost and running, all on my own, I took a lucky turn and ran under a small underpass. It was there I was spotted by a real nice guy who was driving by. He saw I was in danger on the road like that, so he stopped, opened his door and called to me. I didn’t think twice! I jumped in his car and he brought me to TALGV, telling the volunteers that I’m “very sweet.” They agree. I’m sweet and playful; a strong guy who’s super interested in people and learning to please them. I know “sit” and you can teach me lots more. 18-months-old, I’m a brown and white Staffie mix male, and I’m ready to step into a great life with you. Won’t you please open up your heart to me?
