My brother and I were puppies found in the desert. We stayed with our rescuers for several months, living outside until we moved here, where the volunteers have taught me so much! Now I know commands like “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and even earned my AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate! I’m a young Boxer/Lab/Staffie mix male, 52 pounds, and my friends call me handsome—in part because of my sleek black coat with the white star on my neck—and a fun companion for walks, playing ball, and belly rubs. (I’ll try to make those belly rubs fun for you, too, okay?) I’m super grateful to those who helped me become the terrific dog I am today, and all I ask from you is a chance to show you how great we could be together.

Once upon a time, I was a lost dog. It’s dangerous out there on your own, and very lonely, but that’s in the past. I say let bygones be bygones. I’m here now, where my naturally sweet and gentle nature can flourish. I’m 4 years old, a beautiful brown and black female Shepherd mix, nicely built at about 72 pounds. I walk well on a leash, and I’m always happy for your company; you can see that in my soft brown eyes. And as grateful as I am for all my new friends here, I must tell you that there’s still something missing. There’s a forever home in my dreams, and a loving someone to share it with. Most canines (especially youngsters like me) need to have some kind of entertainment or a job to do. Boredom can lead to things not popular with our people. My mom and dad said I was a sweet, passive girl, but I did “get into things” when left alone, so they decided I’d do better with a family that was home more and could give me the attention I deserve. I love to play with (unstuffed) squeaky toys, ropes, and know all my basic commands; I just need someone who can direct my energies toward doggie things. (Long walks or agility would be wonderful.) Here at TALGV, I’m learning to use a lot of energy in playing with my new doggie friend. I’m a young Border Collie/Lab mix, who’ll make a great addition to your family.

OK, I know that there are dogs who are perfectly content being “outdoor only” critters, but even after living with my family for 5½ years (all my life), I still wanted to be inside with them! My people (a senior couple) said that I’d recently started getting into mischief out there, so since they had four other outside dogs and couldn’t bring just me in, they felt I needed a place and home to call my own. They said I’m a gentle lady who is very submissive, so I’ll bet with just a bit of explanation on the finer points of indoor living, I’ll be a great companion. I’m a Boxer (my dad) and Australian Cattle Dog (my mom) mix, and I’d love the opportunity to show you just how endearing I can be!
