Hi… my name is Adam.

Adopted July 18, 2015

There’s new paradigm of enthusiasm in town and it’s me! My sister, Eve, and I followed a woman into her yard and tried our doggone best to convince her to let us stay, but she already had three dogs and that seemed to be enough for her. She said we were great, fun dogs, though, and would make first-rate additions to any home. If you come sit with me for just five seconds, I’ll squirm into your lap, give you countless soft kisses, and tell you just how important it is that you become mine! I’m a delightful, approximately 1-year-old Schipperke mix, so like all my breed, am going to need a “job” to do to keep my agile brain occupied. Oh, and I’ll also bond with you like epoxy and be your protector forever!

Hi… my name is Cookie.

Adopted April 16, 2016

Thank goodness my puppy raising days are over! I loved all my children dearly, but it’s time for me to find my forever home and focus on being the best-ever companion! My kids, Shortbread, Oatmeal,  Gingersnap, and Truffle (see a “theme” here?), were living outdoors in very poor conditions when TALGV’s Outreach Program rescued us. In addition to being malnourished, we had a lot of other issues for a while, but with the TLC (and medical attention) we’ve been getting, we’re all “up and running” and ready to move on. The volunteers say that I “walk like a dream” and that I’d be a perfect playful and affectionate medium-sized dog for an active family. I’m only about 18-months old, so just think of all those years ahead of us to “feel the love”!

Hi… my name is Gingersnap.

Adopted April 16, 2016

My siblings, Shortbread, Oatmeal and Truffle, and my mom, Cookie (see a “theme” here?), were living outdoors in very poor conditions when TALGV’s Outreach Program rescued us. In addition to being malnourished, we had a lot of other issues for a while, but with the TLC (and medical attention) we’ve been getting, we’re all “up and running” and ready to move on. The volunteers say that I’m a sweet “older” puppy who’ll be a perfect playful and affectionate medium-sized dog for an active family. I’m only about 7 months old and right now I’m spending all my time trying to figure out how best to get more human contact, so just think — if you take me home, we’ll have lots of years ahead of us to “feel the love”!

Hi… my name is Shortbread.

My dog siblings, mom and I were living rough before we came to TALGV. But here, we’ve discovered some of the great things life has to offer. With good food and exercise, friends and toys, this safe place has brought out the happy dog in me! And since I’m just over 1-year-old, I have the energy to run and play every day. I love my naps, too, but my favorite times are those shared with someone. I’m used to dog company, and really warm up to one-on-one time with my human friends, too. I have a light tan coat, dreamy brown eyes, and at 40 pounds, I could fit nicely into many homes, but just want one–my forever home. If you’re my someone to love forever, please come see me today.

Hi… my name is General.

Adopted May 2, 2015

When my family adopted me a puppy they thought they were getting a “Labradoodle” that would be a medium-sized guy when grown. Well, one look at me, and you can tell that my real heritage is Irish wolfhound — and although I’m not that big, I turned out to be “more dog” than they could handle. I also had a rather rough start in life, as I had ringworm and was isolated from people, so didn’t get the kind of attention I needed in my formative months. But, boy, do I crave it now! I loved playing with the kids but was a little too rambunctious for them, so I hope I can find a place with a really active family that will help me make up for lost time in the “best friend” department!

Hi… my name is Twilight.

Adopted June 27, 2015

I was found running on Sahuarita Road near the Walden Grove High School with two other dogs. Thankfully we were rescued by a wonderful TALGV volunteer, and, happily for my two companions, their owner arrived immediately to reclaim them. My story, however, is a bit different in that my mom never came for me, so now I’m officially a TALGV dog and am available to brighten up your life! I’m a sweet (but a little sad!) black and white Staffie mix lady, and am hopeful that there will be a caring family out there to help get on with the business of being your best pal.

Hi… my name is Sidney.

Adopted May 24, 2015

They’re calling me a Lab mix, but being a lightweight with “shortish” legs, there may be a bit of Doxie hiding in me, too! Whatever the mix, I am a sweet and happy boy who was found running on Nogales Highway (that’s part of the reason I’m happy — it was pretty busy out there!). I adore greeting visitors, who I can cajole into petting me, and then do my best to convince them that life will be ever so much more exciting with me by your side. (I’ve been overnighting with a foster mom and she says I’m totally enjoying being able to stretch my legs and experience home life with adult dogs!) I’m only about 9 months old, so we’ve got many years ahead of us to discover what great pals we are!

Hi… my name is Bubba.

Adopted July 5, 2015

When I started to hear the dreaded “D” word, I had a feeling my life was going to change. My mom and dad got a divorce, and mom and the kids couldn’t keep me, so I went to live with dad, but I just couldn’t adjust without the security and comfort of my little family, since they really were all I knew and loved in life. That said, given my personality, everyone agrees that once I get into a new active, loving home with lots of attention, all my good qualities will shine through again. My people said I was wonderful with the kids, got along well with my Lab housemate, and was a “great family dog,” so won’t you please give me that one more chance to “just be me”?
