After a short stay at TALGV I moved into foster care, and it’s just what I need… caring people to teach me the basics of living in a home. I know the commands “wait” and “sit” and love going for long walks (as an individual or in a pack). I’m currently sharing the home with the two resident dogs. It seems I may be a bit of a toy hog, but I remain a true gentleman. I’m well behaved, enjoy the company of people, and I’ve been loving towards my foster’s granddaughter. I’m still working on my greeting skills, but I’m never aggressive or prone to jump. My foster mom says I’m a “joy” to have in their home. I could be the joy in yours!

I’m extremely intelligent and great at problem-solving – sometimes a little too good. I can open doors, figure things out quickly, and have mastered “puppy dog eyes” to extract treats from you. Like many brainy types, I come with a few quirks: kids make me anxious, I’m socially awkward outside my trusted inner circle, and I strongly dislike wind and passing vehicles (unless I’m riding in one, obviously). I need to be your one-and-only pet, as I prefer having all the attention and thrive best without other animals. My ideal home is adult-only, calm, and predictable, with limited visitors, a secure backyard, water to splash in, and humans who enjoy high-energy games of fetch that would impress most athletes. I’m housetrained, crate-trained, respectful indoors, and—because I’m a longtime resident—I come with Vet Care Support for Life.

It was a couple of days before Thanksgiving, when my canine traveling companion and I were trying to decide which direction to take. A kind fellow traveler stopped and offered to give us a ride. We accepted his generous offer, and because he had no idea where we were headed either, the decision was made to bring us to TALGV. I’m a friendly, handsome, male Staffie mix, who’s definitely giving thanks for being here, and I’m already looking forward to meeting YOU! I can use a doggie door, and one of my handlers mentioned I’m an “easy” walker. I’m a handsome, affectionate, and energetic boy who’s crate and leash trained. My foster dad wants to add sweet, cuddly, and adorable, because I love to curl up on the couch with my people (even on the lap, if allowed). I enjoy playing and going for walks, but I need a strong handler. I’m house trained and ask to go out, and even though I already know the basic commands like “sit,” and “leave it,” etc., I’m also willing and smart enough to learn more. I’m a dog who absolutely loves people, but my feelings do NOT extend to other dogs. I definitely need to be your one and only pet. Hi… my name is Suzy,

I am a young, fun-loving, and affectionate beagle and heeler mix who originally came to TALGV as a puppy. Someone threw me from a car back then, but I have a new hip, so you wouldn’t know it! My former family says I got along really well with the kids and the cats – just not so much with the other dogs. They also said I was well behaved while I lived with them and that I walk nicely on a leash. I know the sit and wait commands, and I even give High Five’s! I love walks and to play fetch with my favorite ball, and so far I’ve liked everyone I’ve met. I also enjoy cuddles and snuggling up to my person. Can we snuggle up together on your couch?

I’ve recently been returned to TALGV, and even though I’m comfortable here, I personally prefer living in a “regular” home. People from my past have commented that I’m well behaved, affectionate, and love people and other dogs. I’m happy playing with anyone who’s willing to play with me. It’s also been mentioned that I am snuggly, loving, and calm; just ask about me when we meet in person. I can guarantee you one thing, my sweet personality and good disposition haven’t changed over the years. Now I have one goal, and that’s to find my own “forever” home.
