Hi… my name is Chief,

Adopted 4-30-22

I’m a proud, young (dare I say handsome) Staffie mix boy who’s going to tell you a little about myself. I’m a patient, friendly chap. My knowledge of basic commands is fairly impressive: “sit,” “wait,” “let’s go,” and “leave it,” and with your help I’d like to continue my education. I’m a “great leash walker”(according to one of my handlers). I’m easy to leash into my appointed walking gear, heel very nicely, walk comfortably on a loose leash, and don’t pull. Cars going by don’t faze me, and I was non-reactive to my noisy canine neighbors when I passed their kennels. If you liked what you read in my bio today, how would you like to add to it in our future years together? Just say YES!…and so it continues!

Hi… my name is Bruce (boy),

Adopted 2-8-22

Bruce Boy has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Are you a loving, compassionate person who has no other pets in your home? If you can answer yes, then you may be that special person I’m looking for. I’m a sweet friendly boy, who comes with high praises. I’m crate trained, walk well on a leash, love people, and have excellent house manners. I earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate so I know the commands: “sit,” wait,” “down,” “heel,” and “leave it.” I’m also a confirmed couch potato, but I’m always ready for a walk  or ride in the car. Now, getting down to the nitty gritty, I was recently diagnosed with cancer. I would really love to spend what time I have left in a loving home with a caring person to share it with. Please be that special person!

Hi… my name is Starr,

While spending time with my foster dad, I discovered how loving family life can be. I happily made myself at home and respected the house rules by not chewing on or touching anything I shouldn’t and asking to go potty. When being introduced to different people, I made my “dad” proud by always being polite and friendly. Occasionally, when he left me alone for a few hours, I didn’t mind being in my crate. I follow commands, such as “sit” and “stay,” especially at mealtimes and when getting treats. Being a very affectionate gal, I discovered recliners (and beds) are great places to cuddle. I love sharing a home with my “people,” but I’d rather not share it with another pet! Do you have an empty spot in your home that needs filling? Luckily I’m available! (2/22)

Hi… my name is Tommy,

Adopted 2-17-22

After a short stay at TALGV I moved into foster care, and it’s   just what I need… caring people to teach me the basics of living in a home. I know the commands “wait” and “sit” and love going for long walks (as an individual or in a pack). I’m currently sharing the home with the two resident dogs. It seems I may be a bit of a toy hog, but I remain a true gentleman. I’m well behaved, enjoy the company of people, and I’ve been loving towards my foster’s granddaughter. I’m still working on my greeting skills, but I’m never aggressive or prone to jump. My foster mom says I’m a “joy” to have in their home. I could be the joy in yours!

Hi… my name is Pilgrim,

Adopted 12-22-21

It was a couple of days before Thanksgiving, when my canine traveling companion and I were trying to decide which direction to take. A kind fellow traveler stopped and offered to give us a ride. We accepted his generous offer, and because he had no idea where we were headed either, the decision was made to bring us to TALGV. I’m a friendly, handsome, male Staffie mix, who’s definitely giving thanks for being here, and I’m already looking forward to meeting YOU! I can use a doggie door, and one of my handlers mentioned I’m an “easy” walker. Even though my past education is unknown, if you’re willing to be patient and work with me, I could be that loving pal you’ve always wanted. Now, I’m ready to go home! Please, come and get me today.
