Hi… my name is Baby Girl,

Baby Girl has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Why choose between playful energy and snuggly sidekick? You can have both! With my soft brindle coat and soulful eyes, I’m a head-turner, but much more than just good looks. I’m a Canine Good Citizen, which means I’m polite, smart, and well-mannered. I’m the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation—I love outings, dipping my paws in the pool, and exploring, but I’m just as happy lounging in the sunshine or curled up on the couch. Belly rubs? Yes, please! Most of all, I want to be close to my person. I’d prefer to be your one and only furry companion, so I can give you all my love and soak up yours. The folks at TALGV say I’m a gentle, sweet soul waiting for the right match. Could that be you? Let’s begin our happily-ever-after today!                                                                                   (bio revised 8-2025)

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Adopted 10-19-24

Winter is an affectionate 5-year-old, 50-pound Dachshund/Staffie mix female who needs a new home. She is crate trained, leash trained, and has some obedience training (knows “sit” and “crate”). She asks to go out and can use a doggy door. She is in good health, spayed, up to date on rabies shot, and medical records are available. Winter gets along with other dogs, cats, and children over 5 years. She loves peanut butter treats, dislikes loud noises, and will play briefly with her ball. She stays off furniture but, if invited, she will be happy to sleep with you instead of in her crate. There is no adoption fee for this sweet girl. If you will welcome Winter into a loving home as part of your family, please call Brenda any time Mondays or Thursdays at 520-349-3956.

P.S. Winter’s sister, Oreo, is also available but they do not have to be adopted together.

Hi… my name is Mighty,

Adopted 8-25-24

Sweet, loving, and quiet. That’s how friends describe me. Do you think they should add handsome? Just teasing. But I would add easy to please. When I roll over and someone gives me a belly rub, well, I’m in heaven. I’d also be glad to keep you company on a walk or just relaxing at home. For me, quality time is any time spent with a good friend. Through no fault of my own, I was left behind. Maybe that’s why I treasure my toys—they’re like a security blanket that stays close. But they don’t love me back like people can. That’s why I’d love to meet you. I’ll greet you with a gently wagging tail and a hopeful expression, wondering if maybe, with you, my happiest days are yet to come.

Hi… my name is Daisy,

If life were a movie, I’d be the lovable sidekick who auditions for the lead but doesn’t get the part. So many adopters pass by my kennel…. and then pick another dog. I’m a calm, soulful girl who adores humans. I once had a doggie roommate, but I prefer people—I connect better with them. I walk nicely on a leash, though sometimes I’d rather pause, smell the roses, and watch the world go by. I’m hoping someone will finally see me. I was found abandoned in the desert and brought to TALGV where I’ve blossomed — with love from my volunteer friends. My goal is a lead role in a loving home. I’m ready to be someone’s star. My big break is still out there. Maybe you can cast me in the story of your life?

Hi… my name is Tawny,

Adopted by foster family 9-14-25

As a scared, lost dog, I just wanted to be safe. Who knew I could be so happy, too! Today, I’m living with a wonderful foster family, who report I’ve come along well in the family situation. They’ve discovered I’m housetrained, respond well to “no” and “stop,” and love toys. I also love hanging out with the family dogs. There are still things to learn, of course. We haven’t walked on a leash yet, and as a possible escape risk, I need a 5-6 foot fence with a solid perimeter. My kind foster parents use a gentle approach, letting me go to them, and accepting that I may never be a cuddler. They’ve taught me what a loving home can be, and now I dream of belonging in one forever. Could it be with you?

Hi… my name is Apollo,

Are you a looking for happy, fluffy boy to become part of your family? Are you more of an introvert who prefers to keep your social circle small? Do you have only older kids or no kids? Do you like to go for long walks or hikes? Would you be willing to take the time to learn about my quirks (I mean, we all have them, right?) and understand I need time to get to know people? Here’s my promise: I won’t leave the toilet seat up, raid the refrigerator, or even leave dirty laundry on the floor. I will bring lots of joy and laughter and be a great walking buddy.  Most of all, I will give you lots of love and devotion. Could you handle all this awesomeness in your life?

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Maxwell (aka Max),

Adopted 7-27-24

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Maxwell has earned his Canine Good Citizen Certificate.

I’m a single, dark-haired, educated, handsome guy with no dependents seeking the love of my life. My ideal match has no other four-legged residents, as I prefer not to compete for one’s devotion, but I can be well-mannered around them! I love two-legged family members – any size! I’m in this for the long-term, so those who aren’t into commitment should keep looking. My heart has been broken in the past, and truth is, my new beloved would provide the spark I need to rekindle the happiness and love I long to share (and perhaps inspire me to lose some of the extra pounds I’ve put on). I love with my whole heart and am eager to get to know you better. When you meet me, you’ll see I’m not just style but also substance. Bonus: I come with Vet Care Support for Life.

Hi… my name is Spots (aka Jeff),

Someone went for the obvious instead of creativity when naming me – LOL! I was adopted and loved for two years, but due to no fault of mine, I’m back and ready to win hearts again. I’m currently crashing with another TALGV dog buddy in a foster home, where I enjoy walks, car rides, and showing off my Master’s degree in house and leash manners. I’m the ideal combo of medium energy and expert-level lounging. Got household chores? I’ll help! My motto: “It doesn’t get clean without Spots!” I’m a little cautious with new folks, but once you pass the vibe check, I’m all in. Cuddles? Yes. Loyalty? Absolutely. Cats? Nope, sorry. I do like other dogs, but can be bossy – it’s the heeler in me. Adopt me and guarantee—everywhere you go, you’ll see Spots!

Hi… my name is Mr. Pickles,

Adopted 10-21-24

I am a shining example of how giving a dog time to decompress can transform their life. I was in quite a “pickle” living on my own in the elements for a long time. Thanks to the kindness of dedicated humans in the neighborhood, I was able to make my way to TALGV. Initially scared and hesitant, I was given time, love and lots of patience; I learned being a dog is fun and have made plenty of human and canine friends. I love car rides and to go on walks and show off my command repertoire for treats. Beyond my handsome looks, I’m a humble guy ready to be part of an active family. With your time and commitment, I’ll bring the loyalty, love and give new meaning to “hold the Pickles!”

Hi… my name is Ralphie,

Adopted 4-13-24

Thanks to the loving care of my foster parents, I’m finally healing and discovering how good life can be. Also, hats off to their Westie, Scampy. I’ve enjoyed hanging out and napping with you! I was found alongside the road with a painful injury. As a result, my leg couldn’t be saved, but I’m learning how to get along quite well. I’m content going in my crate when I choose, at night, and when left alone. I’ve needed some encouragement to go out to potty, but I’m improving daily. I’m a sweet, gentle, loving boy who enjoys getting praises, belly rubs, and any kind of attention. I need someone who can offer me security, patience, and ongoing love and care. Making “goofy” sounds is how I communicate, but for you I’ll translate: “Please take me home!”
