Animal League News

Hi… my name is Daisy (Maisy),

Adopted 1-29-25

I think I’m a little dog trapped in a big dog’s body. I love to go for walks and while I can demonstrate great leash manners, I’m also strong, so those who walk me should be experienced in keeping me focused. My owners left me with a friend and never came back for me. What the heck? My nice guardian got me proper vet care and ensured I became a responsible member of canine society: I would never have to worry about having puppies, I think it’s called “getting spayed?” Unfortunately, after several months, it was clear I was afraid of kids and she could no longer keep me. That’s how I ended up at TALGV.  Now, I’m looking forward to meeting you!  Just ask for Ms. Maisy, and I’ll see you soon!

Hi… my name is Simone,

Adopted 9-13-24

I was found near a trailhead—a beautiful place to be ifyou’re safe and know your way home. Lucky for me, a hiker recognized that I was lost and brought me here, where I quickly made lots of new friends.  “You’ve won the hearts of everyone you’ve met,” one new buddy told me. I’ve heard my praises sung for being sweet, beautiful, and friendly, and especially for being good on a leash. As a youngster—probably just about 1 year old—I’m ready and able to keep up with the active life. I’d love to share happy trails with you, going for a walk or even an adventure and then—my favorite part—going home together. If that sounds good to you, too, you’ll find me here, hoping to meet you real soon.

Hi… my name is Mighty,

Adopted 8-25-24

Sweet, loving, and quiet. That’s how friends describe me. Do you think they should add handsome? Just teasing. But I would add easy to please. When I roll over and someone gives me a belly rub, well, I’m in heaven. I’d also be glad to keep you company on a walk or just relaxing at home. For me, quality time is any time spent with a good friend. Through no fault of my own, I was left behind. Maybe that’s why I treasure my toys—they’re like a security blanket that stays close. But they don’t love me back like people can. That’s why I’d love to meet you. I’ll greet you with a gently wagging tail and a hopeful expression, wondering if maybe, with you, my happiest days are yet to come.

Hi… my name is Korita,

Adopted 3-27-25

As every girl knows, the color black goes with anything. My sleek fur coat will go with any home décor. So how ‘bout it? Why don’t we meet to see if we are a match, and I could go home with you!  My last home I only had for a few months before my human became ill and could no longer care for me. When she brought me to The Animal League, she didn’t provide much information. So, I could be your blank slate, and we could write our own story.  In the shelter I’m shy, surrounded by new sounds, cats, and people. Please extend me your patience and time to become yours! I’d love that!

Hi… my name is Oliver,

Adopted 12-27-24

I have had my share of life’s ups and downs. As a stray brought to The Animal League, I can tell you this place is one of my “ups” because they are caring for me. I am now in a safe place where I have my share of volunteers petting and brushing me. I like that. I also like the special foods they give me. My rescuer said I was laid back but craved attention. Yes, I would love my own human to shower me with attention! I’ll reward you with purrs from my heart. I do like to play from time to time. More than anything, I want to be cherished in my own home.

Hi… my name is Spice,

Adopted 8-11-24

I was found with another dog, both of us scared and hungry, outside a local library. Fortunately, our finder was patient and gently encouraging.  When she offered food, we overcame our fears and let her bring us safely to TALGV. Here, I’ve made more new friends and really appreciate their kind words and affection. They report I walk well on a leash and appear to be housetrained (I “go” on our walks). As a young adult dog, I still have some lessons to learn, and I’m often shy around strangers, but thanks to my fondness for food, treats almost always help! I’m a female Pug mix, small but solid, with a soft tan coat and sparkling brown eyes. I hope you’ll come visit soon because I think my next best friend could be you!
