Animal League News

Hi… my name is Baxy,

RAINBOW BRIDGE 11-22-24

I’m not like the other fosters.  Due to my diagnosis, I’m a fospice dog—a foster dog who is in hospice.  But whatever the term, what I know is that I am now a family dog.

We all know that a family can be one person or a houseful.  In my case, my foster family includes another dog and my foster mom and dad (two TALGV volunteers), and now me!  My family opened their hearts and home to me, not as a guest but as one of them.

Whatever lies ahead for me, there is one thing I know for sure:  I will not face it alone.  Thanks to my foster family I can rest assured that my golden days—these precious days—will be full of love, comfort and family.

Hi… my name is Toeby,

Adopted 8-18-24

Why is my name spelled this way? Because I have extra toes on my front and back paws! I’m unique! When my human mom had to move, she brought me along with two other cats to The Animal League. We’re ready to be adopted into another home. She didn’t give much information about me, so I’ll tell you that I’m a handsome guy who is keeping to myself as I adjust to my new surroundings. Although shy, I appreciate the volunteers talking to me. My black satin coat and large golden eyes make for one stunning cat. Although you can’t buy love, you could rescue me. What do you say?

Hi… my name is Smokey,

Adopted 7-28-24

Wanted: a fur-ever home! As a Korat, I form strong bonds with my humans. When my human mom had to move, she brought me along with two other felines into The Animal League. I’m missing my human and my home. If you’re looking for an intelligent, playful cat, I’m your guy! In some cultures, Korat cats are considered “Good Luck Cats.” Wouldn’t you like to have some good luck? Consider giving yourself a gift of ME. I’m a sturdy guy who promises to be your loving companion. Just speak to me as you caress my soft grey fur coat. You’ll be charmed! Please come meet me.

True to my breed, I’m very social and outgoing. I thrive on human interaction. I enjoy being the center of attention. Could I be YOUR center of the universe? Hi… my name is Downy,

Adopted with Merlot 8-23-24

I’m a doll! I have a huge purr motor, I love attention, and I can be quite vocal at times.  I love to “knead bread” on my fluffy blanket. Being a “tripod” doesn’t hold me down. (Yes, I had an accident and had to have my right hind leg amputated.) I run, jump, and play. I can easily get up on things. I’m a little standoffish when meeting other kittens or dogs at first but that soon changes.  My fosters claim that I’m resilient and determined, I’m adaptive (my missing leg doesn’t impede me from getting around on my own), and I’m very in tune with my surroundings and what’s going on in them. Please meet me!
