Hi… my name is Cookie (II),

Adopted February 24, 2016

As a contented, very gentle 11-year-old Cocker Spaniel, I’m happy with basic comforts: food and water, shelter, and age-appropriate exercise. You could say that all I really need is love. My human mom and I enjoyed life together for 11 years, but when her serious health issue arose, she had to go to a place where I couldn’t go. She had taught me well, and I like to please; I know commands like “sit” and “stay,” am leash trained and just generally mind very well. I come with free vet care for life, so that’s taken care of, too. Yes, I often walk in the slower lane of life these days, but I still have a heart full of love and truly hope you’ll choose me to share all the happy days ahead.

Hi… my name is Blue,

Adopted September 5, 2016

Blue has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

I was left home alone and, unlike the movie, no one came back for me. Fortunately, a helpful neighbor brought me to TALGV. Now, you might think I’d be upset about this situation, but I’m pretty much the opposite. I’ve remained calm and easy going, and adjusted almost immediately. I’m very interested in the world around me, “inquisitive” is how a volunteer describes me, and she says I’m also very bright. A grey and white Staffie mix male, 1 year old, I’m not given to barking much, but do enjoy watching people and, based on my eagerness to hop in a car, I’d probably like car rides. Truth be told, I’d love everything about a truly forever home and will give my full love and attention in return. Could that please be with you?

Hi… my name is Polly,

Adopted June 12, 2016

“You’re such a good dog,” said the man who found me near a local restaurant. When he couldn’t find an owner, he brought me to TALGV, where the volunteers said the same thing; “You’re such a good dog!” At first, I thought maybe it was the cute curl in my tail they liked, my pretty tan-blonde coat, or even the way my ears perk up. But now I’ve figured it out! I’m a good dog because my sweet nature shows in how I treat people; I’m affectionate, can be gentle, and do my best to make friends with the people I meet. Of course, I like to play, too! I’m still young and energetic, and eager to learn new things. Won’t you please give me the chance to be your very own good dog!

Hi… my name is Mouse,

Adopted January 18, 2016

What’s more spectacular than an almost all black cat with stand-up-and-shout white antenna-like whiskers? Not much — expect maybe my awesome personality! With my white bib, white paws, emerald green eyes, and the sheen of my silky fur, I’m betting you’ll agree that I’m a pretty irresistible package! A young couple found me on a street in Sahuarita, and while they cared for me they said I loved playing with balls, toys, and pretty much “anything you give her.” I also got along okay with their dogs and did all the charming kitten things that we teenagers still do, so I guess there’s not much else I can say to toot my own horn except that if you plop me in your lap for a chat, we can discuss our options even further!

Hi… my name is Arnie,

Adopted April 16, 2016

You know things can get better when you’re found by someone’s trash cans. That’s what happened to me, so no surprise that when she opened her car door to bring me to TALGV, I jumped right in. Enjoying good food and safe shelter has been great, and I’m learning there’s even more good stuff in life! My human friends really like the way I walk well on a leash, and I’m glad to mind what they say. I’m learning how to play just for the fun of it, and they’re teaching me more good dog manners, too. I’m a well-behaved black and white American Staffordshire Terrier mix male, about 38 pounds, and I’m sure the best is yet to come–when I share love and a forever home with you!

Hi… my name is Copper,

Adopted February 21, 2016

When found, I was more than a lost dog—I was a lost dog with a stick in his leg! My finder’s son took it out, no problems there, and brought me here so I could find a forever home. They call me Copper thanks to my reddish-brown, velvety smooth coat, but please notice the expression in my deep golden eyes, too. That’s one way I say that I’m really interested in getting to know you, and show you that I’m calm, easy-going, and a great companion. I’m a young adult, about 2, on the high end of medium size, and in great shape for the fun we’ll share, from playtime and long walks to quiet times at home. Let’s start with a visit today and see how great we’ll be together forever!
