Hi… my name is Kenny,

Adopted March 9, 2016

Chihuahuas are the smallest breed and at 4.4 pounds, I’m a very little Chihuahua. And even though little dogs often think they’re big, I felt extra tiny when I was lost in a field behind a busy store. The world was big and scary from there, but in one very lucky moment, a kind person rescued me and brought me to TALGV. I’m safe and cared for here, and gradually I’m learning to trust again. The other dogs in The Den, the room at TALGV for little dogs, also make me feel more confident and sometimes we go on walks together. I’m a white male Chihuahua, very young at about 5 months, and realizing that the big life ahead of me is soon going to be much better—the day you make me yours!

Hi… my name is Scooby,

Adopted March 28, 2016

If you’re looking for a fun-loving dog, I’m right here! And, lucky for me, I’m hard to miss. I’m a tall, slender Lab mix male, about 70 pounds, 1-year-old and full of personality. I love people of all ages, and although I’m strong, I correct easily and try real hard to make you proud of me. You must know that I can jump; when we’re out in the yard, a secure, high fence is important. I was lost last summer, then adopted, and then seen wandering a neighborhood alone. This time, I have high hopes that I’ll meet someone who really cares about me and wants to share all the love my big heart has to give. Please let me show you the fun we could have, and then make me yours today!

Hi… my name is Nash,

Adopted 12-8-16

When my mom had to move in with her parents while she finished college, her not-so-temporary lodging didn’t allow pets, so my housemate, Nala, and I needed to find new digs. Mom said that I’m shy at first, but open up really quickly, LOVE to play (being still basically a kitten, that’s a given!), spend lots of time with my own people, new people (I’m a real “meeter and greeter” once I’m comfortable in my home) and I especially enjoy children (I had a 3-year-old that visited and we were the best of friends). I’m a young, solid black, golden-eyed boy with tons of love to give, and I sure hope that you’ll be on the receiving end of it for years and years to come!

Hi… my name is Nala,

Adopted March 21, 2016

When my mom had to move in with her parents while she finished college, her not-so-temporary lodging didn’t allow pets, so my housemate, Nash, and I needed to find new digs. Mom said that I love to be held and snuggled, will talk to you, love attention and children (I spent hours snuggling in the lap of the 3-year-old who visited!), and am just generally an all-around great, fun-loving teenager. Nash and I had to spend a lot of time alone when mom was in school, so I’m hoping for a place where my people will be around more. I’m a young, solid black, green-eyed girl with tons of love to give, and I sure hope that you’ll be on the receiving end of it for years and years to come!

Hi… my name is Tiger,

Adopted 11-21-17

Tiger has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate!

When my previous owner and I parted due to her health concerns, we’d been good friends for 6 years. I think that’s just my nature because being a loyal, devoted companion is what I do best. Oh, you could say I’m “handsome” thanks to my distinctive brindle coat and healthy physique (57 pounds). Also, “single-and-loving-it;” I really prefer to be your only canine. And definitely “well-trained”—I walk beautifully on a leash, and have earned my AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate for my outstanding performance on behavior tests! But the best word for me is friend. I’m up for exercise and play, and for quiet times, too. I’ll be thrilled when you’re happy and understand when you’re sad because that’s what true-blue friends do, and that’s what you’ll get when you make me yours.

Ivy

Hi… my name is Ivy,

Adopted May 1, 2016

On a cold winter’s day, I was alone, shivering, and about to give birth! Thankfully, some very kind people took me in, and I promptly delivered 8 puppies. What a relief to have my babies in a safe place! I took care of my growing pups until they were ready to be on their own. Now I’m on my own again, too, safe in foster care, with time to wonder what it feels like to truly belong to someone, to be loved in that forever way. Human friends say my day will come because lots of people would enjoy sharing life with a sweet, happy companion like me. I’m a medium-size Lab mix female, brindle with touches of white, and a big hope in my heart that you’ll let me be yours today.

Hi… my name is Buddy,

Adopted March 12, 2016

How does a friendly, great-looking dog like me end up walking alone in the road? We don’t have the answer to that, but I’m sure my future is a lot brighter now that I’m here, where I can meet you! I’m a young black Lab male, 67 pounds, with the typical Lab webbed feet and otter tail. My handsome coat has a gentle wave to it, and you could say the same about my personality because I’m a gentle guy, one who loves the company of people. Going for walks, playing, and just hanging out are all fun things we can share. I’m an even-tempered, people-pleasing guy who excels at being a charming and loving companion. If you think we’d be a good match, please come visit today. I’d love to be your buddy!

Hi… my name is Mooky,

Adopted April 10, 2016

Well, humans may like those squirmy, noisy things called babies, but this little lady really had her nose out of joint when mine arrived, so I had to say adieu to my family (the big ones were really nice though!). I also lived with three other cats and two dogs, so I’d say that I was pretty adaptable in the “getting-along-with-non-humans” department! My people also said that although I’m sometimes independent, I can easily get attached to one person (you think of dogs as bonding with their people, but we felines do that too once in a while!), so if you’re looking for a quiet lady who will be happy just to be with you reveling in life’s simple pleasures, that would definitely be me!

Hi… my name is Tory,

Adopted April 2, 2016

When I was found near a busy intersection, I eagerly answered my rescuer’s call. I was friendly right away, but also malnourished and had a skin issue, so my TALGV friends took me to the vet. Today, I feel so much better! My coat may never be perfect, but I have long black silky fur, and with my new healthy diet, I’m now about 40 pounds, a nice size for a 1-year-old Lab mix female. I’m having baths with a special shampoo, and TALGV will continue to support care for the skin condition until it’s resolved. And from my heart, I offer you my sweet personality and people-friendly good nature. If you can introduce me to a life of love and fun, I’m ready! May the next friendly call I hear be yours!

Hi… my name is Bella (Lee),

Adopted June 25, 2016

When I was adopted a couple of months ago, I really liked the people and they liked me, but they said I didn’t get along with their other animals (2 dogs and a cat), so I had to go. Sure, I was disappointed, but now I’m happy to say I’ve made lots of new friends here at TALGV. The volunteers say I’m friendly in an easy-going way, eager to be a pleasing companion, and just plain “good with people.” I’m a Pointer mix female, 3 years old and about 60 pounds, white with black spots and beautiful brindle markings. Commands I know well include “come” and “sit,” and I’m already leash trained. If you come visit me, you’ll make my day. Take me home with you, and I’ll be your faithful friend forever!

Hi… my name is Lovey,

Adopted March 11, 2016

To see us cuddle and play, you might think my siblings and I have had only fun days, but our lives started with a struggle. After a difficult delivery, our mother couldn’t care for us and bottle-feeding wasn’t working. Just when things looked desperate, a small mother dog appeared! Her own puppies weren’t found, but she accepted us instead, making us three very lucky pups! Today we’re thriving, running and playing, sometimes falling all over ourselves. Our biological mom was an Otterhound mix, so that’s a hint of what we’ll look like. And, of course, we’re all adorable. I’m a female with one blue eye and one brown, black with a white stripe on my head, and I have a whole lot of puppy love to give. How about I give it to you!
