Animal League News

Hi… my name is Panchi,

When the folks decided they had too many pets, three of us cats came to The Animal League. We’re all taking time to adjust to our new digs and it’s been a little rough. I spend my time in a wall cubby, sometimes with one of my buddies. I haven’t yet gotten used to humans trying to touch me. I’m a young boy with a tabby coat with patches of white.  What would suit me best is a quiet home with a patient owner who could help me feel safe and let my better nature come out. Could you give me a chance?

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Delilah,

I was abandoned near a high school and spent several days hiding in whatever shade I could find. I was scared and afraid to trust anyone. Thanks to some patient, kind humans, I became brave enough to come in from the heat. Now that I’m safe, I’ve discovered how much I love people. Like, really love them. I’m a sweet, affectionate girl who would happily be a lap dog as my motto is “if I fit – or not –  I sit!”  I’m still figuring out how I feel about other dogs. I’m a little nervous but somewhat curious, so we’re taking it slow. My friends will update you on my progress.  In the meantime, I’m looking for someone kind, patient, and ready to show me the safe, loving life I’ve always deserved. Could that be you?

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Lucy,

I’m the shy one; my sister Maggie was outgoing and already has been adopted. We both lived our entire lives with a family being treated like the ladies we are. When human illness occurred, we were brought to The Animal League. I’m learning to accept the attention of the volunteers. I like them assuring me that my life will be okay again. I like to be brushed on my head and shoulders only. I tend to keep to myself. The second act of my drama should be to find another family to love and care for me. How about it? Is that you? I would revel in the simple pleasures of taking it easy with you!

Hi… my name is Flip Flop,

I arrived at The Animal League as a stray with my young son, Loafer. He has been cared for and is doing great. Now I’m hoping I can score an awesome gig as your next pet! I’m a little scared, as you can see from my photos, but I’m gradually beginning to see that humans aren’t all bad. They feed me and keep me safe, and I’ve allowed a tiny bit of touching. Can you be the one to provide me a quiet place where I can continue to blossom? Come to my room and look for me in one of the cubbies.

Hi… my name is Honey,

Thank you kindly for taking a moment to read about me. I’m a young lady, still learning the ropes, and sometimes it takes me a minute to feel brave. I was found all by myself in a grocery store parking lot, but a kind soul from TALGV brought me to safety. Since then, I’ve made a few gentle doggie friends, and I’ve been working real hard on my manners—quietly, of course. Folks say I might’ve read a page or two from Emily Post. I even went to my first adoption event! It was a little scary at first, but the soft voices and kind smiles helped me feel hopeful. If you’re patient and tender-hearted, I just might blossom right into your lap and melt your heart like butter on a biscuit.

Hi… my name is Paddy,

AVAILABLE WITH BONDED COMPANION TEDDY

I’m humming Gershwin’s song, “Someone to Watch Over Me.” I do have that someone in Teddy, my bonded companion! We are inseparable. He is never too far away from me, his watchful eyes always aware of where I am. We came to The Animal League from a home with too many pets. We stay close together. You will find us either in a covered cave bed cuddled together, two pairs of eyes peeking out or cuddled in a corner together. I’m a petite young girl who’s shy but seeking my new home with Teddy. Is it yours? I hope so!

Hi… my name is Teddy,

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION WITH BONDED COMPANION PADDY

My watchful eyes are always aware of where my best friend Paddy is. I’m her protector who watches over her. I’m glad that we came together to The Animal League from our over-crowded home. We need each other! Huddled together, we are ever watchful of the volunteers who speak to us. Although they offer us toys to play with, we just stare and listen. I’m a handsome lad with perfect markings of grey and white. Paddy and I are seeking our new home together. We both need “someone to watch over me” as Gershwin’s song says. We are longing to meet you! Please come!

Bo

Hi… my name is Bo (aka Rain),

Remember those ads about a famous athlete with the slogan “Bo Knows?” Well, this Bo knows plenty, including sit, down, place and more! I walk like a champ (especially away from the shelter). I love to make friends with other dogs, chase toys like a pro, and turn on the charm with my goofy grin. I’m a Malinois mix – of awesomeness! My looks equal my smarts. I learn fast and, while I enjoy being active, I also enjoy my naps. Cats might not appreciate my enthusiasm, but people sure do! I’m too much for a family with little kids (I might accidentally knock them down). If you’re looking to recruit a teammate to join your family —someone ready for adventure, training fun, and unconditional love, look no further…this Bo knows he’ll fit in perfectly!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Surprise,

Yes, that’s my real name. No, I don’t pop out of cakes – LOL! I’m 48 pounds of fabulous and mildly awkward charm. I lost my home recently, but I didn’t lose my sparkle. I’m adjusting with the help of my awesome TALGV crew – both 2- and 4-legged —even if group living isn’t really my thing. (I mean, who doesn’t get a little anxious with noisy neighbors?) I’m medium-energy: down for a walk, up for a nap, repeat. Kids? Uh…hard pass. I’m more of a grown-up’s dog. Think quiet evenings and snacks that “accidentally” fall on the floor. Once I trust you, I’m loyal, loving, and will absolutely judge your TV choices—but in a supportive way. So, if you’re kind, calm, and have a spot on the couch… let’s make this the happiest Surprise ever.

She likes car rides. She loves to relax and snuggle and prefers to sleep with her person.

Hi… my name is Logic,

I was rounded up along with a couple of buddies and kittens, and I can’t tell you what my life was like before. I was the friendliest of the adult cats and was taking care of my kittens. I’m just glad I’m here now! I’ve been pretty scared since arriving but I’m becoming a little more sociable with the volunteers. My coat is a fluffy grey tabby stripe.  Now that the kids are squared away I’m hoping someone will come looking for me! I need a gentle and patient soul to bring out my best points. Could that be you?

Hi… my name is Brainteaser,

I was rounded up along with a couple of girlfriends and kittens, and I can’t tell you what my life was like before. Right now I’m not happy being here, and I express that by hiding in a corner and hissing.    I can’t really complain about the food, though, and I am safe. Hopefully in time my attitude will warm up a bit once I realize how much better off I am.  I’m a pretty grey tabby girl. For now I could use a quiet home with a human that has patience to spare. I promise I’ll try my best!
