Animal League News

Hi… my name is Indigo,

When my owner could no longer keep me, I eventually came to The Animal League. Very little information about my past came with me, but I’m so young I don’t really have a lot of history! I’m a little scared, but I’m getting used to being stroked and brushed by the nice volunteers. I’m a petite girl with a gorgeous grey coat. I’m betting that I could warm up to a patient person in short order. I’m looking for a safe place to start my life anew. If you come to visit me you may find me on the windowsill, where I feel safe pressed up against a wall.

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Aries,

ARIES IS CONSIDERED A LARGE DOG AND COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE.

I’m baffled and bewildered! I got returned like an Amazon package, although I’m the TOTAL package: I come with Vet Care Support for Life, I’m house-trained, leash-savvy, know my manners (“sit,” “lay,” “heel”), and I’m happy to alert you when nature calls. I don’t do chicken or grain, but I’m not picky—just a little allergy-prone. Now here are my non-negotiable “pawlicies”:  1. I’m strong on a leash if we encounter other animals. My adopter needs to know how to redirect me.  2.  There can be no other animals in the home.  Nope.  Nothing furry, feathered or otherwise. Just humans. I love people. I’ll be your shadow, your fan club, your couch buddy for life. All I ask is to be your one and only. I’ll give you 100% of my heart—no sharing required. Sound good?

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Vanilla Wafer (aka Nilla),

AS A RESIDENT AT TALGV FOR MORE THAN 2 YEARS, NILLA COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE.

I’m learning the world isn’t so scary. Walks are my favorite—especially those with a bunny scent! I’m getting braver every day: strangers don’t scare me like they used to, especially if they have a calm, friendly dog. I’ll need a few meetups at my favorite park to get comfortable, so please let me go at my own pace. I’m house-trained, use a doggie door, and know a few commands. Once I trust you, my silly side shines—perhaps relocating shoes or the remote. I love toys, car rides, and splashing in a kiddie pool. My foster buddy helps boost my confidence, and I’m discovering how fun being a dog can be. No little kids for me, but a patient heart? Yes, please! The best things in life—like me with Vet Care Support for Life—are worth working for.

Hi… my name is Shiloh,

Transformation! I’m now living up to my name which means “tranquil.” I was found out on my own. Being a stray, it took me awhile to regain my composure. Since coming to The Animal League, I now feel safe. The volunteers have patiently coaxed me out of my hiding place. I now like to sit atop a cat tree observing my world. I also really like to play with those wand toys! If I’m not too busy playing, I usually like to be petted and brushed. If you’re up for some young cat antics, please come spend time with me. I’m a beauty!

Hi… my name is Queenie,

What can I say? I have the salty taste of losing my home—twice! In my first home with my sister, we had it made with a man who said I was warm and friendly once I got to know you. Sadly, his fiancée was allergic to cats, so he brought us siblings to The Animal League. After my sister was adopted, I didn’t do too well adapting to other felines. My second home was short-lived due to my anxieties. Back here, I’m watching other cats play but keeping to myself. Perhaps my next home should let me be the royalty I was previously. No drama, just quiet care and safety.

Hi… my name is Bella,

“Moving and can’t take her with me,” said my first human. I was happy for her children and dog that did move with her. Still, I needed my own home. I had one for a few months but didn’t get along with the other resident cat. I need to be your One and Only Pet. I will play with you, jump on your lap, and curl around for a good brushing of my furry body and plumed tail. I require attention. Being my feisty feline self, I will determine how much attention I desire. Are you okay with that? If so, we’re a match! Please come meet me.

Hi… my name is Baby Girl,

Baby Girl has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Why choose between playful energy and snuggly sidekick? You can have both! With my soft brindle coat and soulful eyes, I’m a head-turner, but much more than just good looks. I’m a Canine Good Citizen, which means I’m polite, smart, and well-mannered. I’m the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation—I love outings, dipping my paws in the pool, and exploring, but I’m just as happy lounging in the sunshine or curled up on the couch. Belly rubs? Yes, please! Most of all, I want to be close to my person. I’d prefer to be your one and only furry companion, so I can give you all my love and soak up yours. The folks at TALGV say I’m a gentle, sweet soul waiting for the right match. Could that be you? Let’s begin our happily-ever-after today!                                                                                   (bio revised 8-2025)

Hi… my name is Viper,

Life upheaval: new baby in the house. Our humans weren’t sure how my best feline friend, Baxter, and I would interact with the little one, so they brought us to The Animal League where we await our new home.  I’m not sure why I have my name because I’m certainly not venomous! I’m a healthy, young girl with lovely black and white tabby markings. I’m shy. Currently my coping strategy is to nestle in a cat tree cubby observing my new surroundings. I’m waiting to venture forth to play with toys and receive petting from the volunteers. Until then, they are gently talking to me, assuring me that I will find my new home. Perhaps with you?

Hi… my name is Yeti,

No worries about stepping on my tail because I don’t have one! I’m a Bobtail Cat. I’m a petite beauty who loves to play with feathered wands and balls. I even know how to play “fetch!” For two years I lived with a couple and their dogs. My humans said I was nervous around strangers and played rough with children. In my second home, I was the same way.  When excited, I tend to nip so I need my calm person(s) to redirect my energy. Are you the one?  I like to sleep in my own cat tree. That is where you may find me at The Animal League. Please come meet me!  (7-2024)

Hi… my name is Apollo,

Are you a looking for happy, fluffy boy to become part of your family? Are you more of an introvert who prefers to keep your social circle small? Do you have only older kids or no kids? Do you like to go for long walks or hikes? Would you be willing to take the time to learn about my quirks (I mean, we all have them, right?) and understand I need time to get to know people? Here’s my promise: I won’t leave the toilet seat up, raid the refrigerator, or even leave dirty laundry on the floor. I will bring lots of joy and laughter and be a great walking buddy.  Most of all, I will give you lots of love and devotion. Could you handle all this awesomeness in your life?

Hi… my name is Spots (aka Jeff),

Someone went for the obvious instead of creativity when naming me – LOL! I was adopted and loved for two years, but due to no fault of mine, I’m back and ready to win hearts again. I’m currently crashing with another TALGV dog buddy in a foster home, where I enjoy walks, car rides, and showing off my Master’s degree in house and leash manners. I’m the ideal combo of medium energy and expert-level lounging. Got household chores? I’ll help! My motto: “It doesn’t get clean without Spots!” I’m a little cautious with new folks, but once you pass the vibe check, I’m all in. Cuddles? Yes. Loyalty? Absolutely. Cats? Nope, sorry. I do like other dogs, but can be bossy – it’s the heeler in me. Adopt me and guarantee—everywhere you go, you’ll see Spots!

Hi… my name is Jetta,

Believe it or not, I was once a “bottle baby” that PACC microchipped and placed with a foster mom, so was probably a sweet, people-loving girl when I was first adopted. No one knows what happened to me in the intervening six years, but I was found outside and brought to The Animal League a few years ago. I was adopted by a nice man but unfortunately, he passed away, so here I am again. Although I haven’t always gotten along well with my feline roommates here, I’m happy with human company and will sit in laps. If you have a home where I can be your one-and-only, please come get acquainted.  (10-2024)
