Animal League News

Hi… my name is Warwick,

People see my muscles and think I moonlight as a gym trainer. Truth is, I’m more of a “personal play” instructor—just ask my foster family. I used to let my brother DJ handle the social stuff while I focused on important things like sniffing, flexing, and deep thinking. But now that I’m doing my own thing, I’m learning that the world’s not so scary—and that meeting new people can actually be pretty great (especially when treats are involved). Toys are starting to look interesting, too. I’m still cautious about weird noises and surprise objects, but every day I get a little braver and a lot more fun. Under this boulder-bench-pressing look is a sweetheart who just wants to trade belly rubs for loyalty.

Hi… my name is Wee Wee,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

When my owner couldn’t care for us, my buddy Foxy and I came to The Animal League. I’m getting used to my new surroundings, but I’m a little wary of my feline roommates. However, the volunteers are paying me attention and I like petting and chin scratches. Brushing, not so much. My coat is a light grey stripe and my eyes have a greenish hue.  Despite my age I still like to play! And speaking of age, my senior status earns me Vet Care Support for Life—so don’t let that stop you. Come look for me on a low perch in my room.

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Sadie,

Dad moved to a place that didn’t allow pets, so I came to The Animal League. Dad says I’m shy at first but then I’m cuddly and friendly. I did live briefly in another home but I didn’t overcome my shyness there. I do like sleeping on your bed. Here I’ve been sleeping on the top perch of a cat tree, but the volunteers can still reach me for petting and stroking. They say my fur is very soft. I’m a petite calico girl who’s hoping to find the right person who wants me to join their home. Will you come and meet me?

Dad moved to a place that didn’t allow pets, so here I am with my companion, Sadie.  Dad says I’m shy at first but then I’m cuddly and friendly. I like sleeping on your bed. Here I’ve been sleeping on a perch of a cat tree, but I’m still getting used to the attentions of volunteers.  I’m a handsome orange tabby boy who’s hoping to find the right person who wants me to join their home. Hi… my name is Smokey,

When the folks decided they had too many pets, three of us cats came to The Animal League. We’re all taking time to adjust to our new digs and it’s been a little rough. I spend my time in a wall cubby and the volunteers are able to stroke my body with a wand, and even brush and pet me a little—but not on my head. I have no problem with other cats in my room. What would suit me best is a quiet home with a patient owner who could help me feel safe and let my better nature come out.

Hi… my name is Henry,

When the folks decided they had too many pets, three of us cats came to The Animal League. We’re all taking time to adjust to our new digs and at first it was a little rough. At first I spent my time in a wall cubby and the volunteers were able to stroke my body with a wand; now I come out and I enjoy petting, scratching and being brushed. I’m a young boy with a mostly grey coat with patches of white.  What would suit me best is a regular home with an owner who could help me continue to let my better nature come out. Could you give me a chance?

Hi… my name is Delighted,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Since I’ve been here a while, I now qualify for Vet Care Support for Life. In my previous home, my people were having issues with my behavior, and maybe I was a little stressed out. Coming here has really helped, though. I like brushing and playing with a string toy. I approach visitors and rub against their legs for attention. I think I need an easy-going home where I am an only pet with an empty chair for my naps where I can let my better nature shine through. After all, I’m too young to be set in my ways! Will you give me a second chance?  (6-2025)

Hi… my name is Panchi,

When the folks decided they had too many pets, three of us cats came to The Animal League. We’re all taking time to adjust to our new digs and it’s been a little rough. I spend my time in a wall cubby, sometimes with one of my buddies. I haven’t yet gotten used to humans trying to touch me. I’m a young boy with a tabby coat with patches of white.  What would suit me best is a quiet home with a patient owner who could help me feel safe and let my better nature come out. Could you give me a chance?

Hi… my name is Delilah,

I’m Delilah, a gentle, affectionate girl who’s ready for a fresh start. I love exploring the world and make a wonderful walking or hiking companion, especially on crisp mornings. I’ve met a few other shelter canine residents through calm, guided introductions and did quite well. When I see other dogs on walks, I can get excited, and with continued training I’m learning to focus on my handler and take reassurance from my person. I know several commands, including sit, down, and place, and I’m fully house and potty trained. I’m a happy, wiggly soul, so a home without young children would be best—I sometimes forget my size when I’m feeling joyful. I thrive with kind guidance, routine, and love, and I’d be so grateful for a home to help me shine.  (1-26)

Hi… my name is Surprise,

Yes, that’s my real name. No, I don’t pop out of cakes – LOL! I’m 48 pounds of fabulous and mildly awkward charm. I lost my home recently, but I didn’t lose my sparkle. I’m adjusting with the help of my awesome TALGV crew – both 2- and 4-legged —even if group living isn’t really my thing. (I mean, who doesn’t get a little anxious with noisy neighbors?) I’m medium-energy: down for a walk, up for a nap, repeat. Kids? Uh…hard pass. I’m more of a grown-up’s dog. Think quiet evenings and snacks that “accidentally” fall on the floor. Once I trust you, I’m loyal, loving, and will absolutely judge your TV choices—but in a supportive way. So, if you’re kind, calm, and have a spot on the couch… let’s make this the happiest Surprise ever.

Hi… my name is Logic,

Oh, dear, what can the matter be? I’m at The Animal League – again! Previously I was a stray who had kittens, but motherhood ran its course and I was adopted. Then, my human developed health issues. So sorry. Now I need another home. I’ve been “fixed” and have all my shots. I’m a sweet fluffy feline with luscious green eyes and soft long fur. Since I’m a bit shy, do you have the patience to help my better qualities shine? I’m friendly and more sociable than ever. I’ll play with you if you take the time with me. If you’re looking for a beautiful feline companion, perhaps I could be your girl forever?

Hi… my name is Dolly,

For seven years, it was just me and my dad, and I loved him deeply. When I lost him, my world felt very scary, but I’m learning, thanks to my foster home, that safe, quiet homes exist again. I’m a sensitive girl whose confidence grows a little more each day. I love lying beside my people on the couch (please don’t move too much), sleeping on the bed, and inching closer as the night goes on. I prefer to choose when I’m touched, but I’m learning that gentle hands can be kind. Walks are short but improving, and sometimes I even prance with my tail held high. I enjoy routine, slow meals, and silly games at treat time. I’m housebroken, leash-trained, and worth the patience it takes to earn my trust.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.
