Adopted 4-8-20

LILY is a mellow 8-year-old, 11-pound spayed female Chihuahua that needs a new home as owner is moving out of the country. She has diabetes and her vision is limited, but she is otherwise in good health, shots are up to date, and medical records are available. She is housebroken and leash trained. Lily needs her insulin injection twice a day following her meals. She gets along with other dogs and cats. She is friendly and adaptable and warms up quickly to new people.

There is no adoption fee for this sweet girl. If you would welcome her into your home, please call Corinne any time at 520-490-7587.

Hi… my name is Rosa,

Adopted 11-30-20

Lots of personality boxes got checked when my mom relinquished me – ranging from “independent” to “meeter and greeter” – so take your choice! She also said that I love to sit on you when you’re in bed and that I pretty much “owned” the house (except when the new dog arrived – then I stayed upstairs!). Right now, I’ve got bladder stones, but in many cases they may be tiny and pass without notice, and in others a special diet will improve the issue (and TALGV will provide my food and cover bladder-related vet costs, if any!). I’m a loving, declawed lady who hopes there’ll be a kind soul out there who’ll help me get over this “health hump” and back to being my old self.

Hi… my name is Chato,

Adopted 2-27-20

I was adopted 2 years ago after I lost my left hind leg in an automobile accident in Mexico. Don’t be concerned; I get   along very well without it. My Mom brought me back to TALGV because our family and home situations have changed, and it is impossible for her to keep me. I’m a sweet, affectionate, and handsome 4-year-old male Boxer mix. I know the commands “stay,” “leave it,” and “wait.” I walk well on a leash, know how to use the doggy door, have good house manners, and I don’t bark without good reason. I love people and love to play; I don’t love cats. Please come in and visit, and if you are looking for that special dog like me, why not just adopt ME?

Hi… my name is Flicker,

Adopted 3-11-20

It all started in a box by the side of the road. My seven siblings and I were rescued and brought to TALGV. After a while, I was put in foster until I was adopted by a family with three children ranging in age from 4 to 14 years. I’m a happy Lab mix boy that loves to play, and that seems to be the problem; I was “too playful” with the kids. Puppies can get over excited and that sometimes leads to rambunctious play. We also need early behavioral training, and I appear to have very little. If you have lots of love and patience, you are the person for me. Please adopt me and help me learn basic commands and how to be playful in the proper way.

Hi… my name is Milo,

Adopted 3-3-20

Here I am, a 4-year-old German Shepherd, a big boy who’s looking for his forever home. I was recently living in a shelter when someone adopted me and moved me to Green Valley. It was about three weeks later that he brought me to TALGV, possibly because I didn’t get along with the resident cat. He described me as a people-loving, passive, and gentle boy but I will guard my toys. He also said that I ask to go out, and I know the commands “no” and “come.” I really don’t like being left alone! Even though I have some nerve damage in my back legs, it doesn’t stop me from going for a walk. Please come in and you will see how impressive I am. I’ll be here, just ask for me by name, M-I-L-O.

Hi… my name is Sadie,

Adopted 2-28-20

I was brought to TALGV by a neighbor who discovered I’d been abandoned in my yard after my “Dad” left. I’m learning to trust again. I’m a 3-year-old medium-size female Shepherd mix who will warm up to you after a quiet, calm introduction. If you look me straight in the eye at first or talk loud, I’ll bark and growl to make you go away. But when I feel safe, I’ll bring you my toy and sit in your lap, happy to make friends. I’m learning to walk on leash and generally don’t bark at other dogs. People say it’s hard not to stare at me because I’m “stunning.” Once you take me home, you can look at me all you want, and I’ll smile back at you with all the love in my heart.

Hi… my name is Twilight,

Adopted with Midnight 5-21-20

My sister, Midnight, and I were brought here by relatives after our “Mom” passed away. They couldn’t keep us, but TALGV was the best place they could think of. I’m a 7 ½-year-old female Lab/Shepherd mix that is gentle and docile but also quite shy. It takes us both a while to warm up to strangers. After spending time with other animals and four children ages 2-8 years old and then coming here, we’re learning how to adjust to new surroundings. With the patient volunteers here and all the attention we get, I believe we are making progress. Naturally visitors are welcome. Please consider taking a look; you might like what you see.
