Hi… my name is Snickers.

Adopted February 6, 2015

Well, it’s unanimous — everyone agrees that I’ve been eating too many candy bars! Or maybe not getting enough exercise, but in any case I guess I could stand to lose a few pounds! When asked what my “good qualities” were, my people said, “Loves to play and cuddle, snuggle on the couch, and watch college football.” Maybe that explains it — I’m the quintessential couch potato! Since my family moved to “no pets” apartment, I need to find another place where I can do much of the same thing, hopefully with a little more walking thrown in! I’m a delightful, gentle young MinPin girl, who gets along with everyone. I’m beautifully leash and house trained and have a super personality, so I consider myself the “complete package.” I hope you will, too!

I think it should be written somewhere in the human code of conduct that they are never allowed to move to a new home unless pets are permitted! Well, it would be too late for me now anyway, but it’s just a thought! My not-so-little family consisted of six kids, another cat, and a dog (I sure hope they found a BIG place to live!), and we all got along splendidly. Mom said was very gentle and loved to sleep and play with the kids, loved feather toys, and was just generally an all-around wonderful quiet and laid back lady (I had to be with so much going on!). I’m an adaptable shorthaired black and white gal whose background will undoubtedly allow lots of options for a new home!

Hi… my name is Jesse,

Adopted 2-26-17

When you’ve lived with twelve other cats and three dogs, you’ve got to be considered a pretty flexible feline! All of my tribe came to TALGV after my mom went into a nursing home (even for those places that allow a pet to accompany it’s person, my menagerie was a bit over the top!). Even though we were all loved and wonderfully cared for, I’m still a bit on the reticent side in my new surroundings. I do enjoy hanging out in a “catominium” where I welcome the volunteers “loving on me.” It’s really my strategy, you see, pretending I’m shy so they’ll seek me out! Hey, it’s working! I’m a handsome shorthaired solid black guy who’s yearning for the chance to show you just how adaptable and loving I can be.

Hi… my name is Penn.

Adopted March 16, 2015

Wouldn’t it be great if they did DNA testing on all the “mystery” dogs that come in to TALGV? What an interesting genetic mix you’d find! In my case they’ve got bets going on Anatolian shepherd, Swiss Mountain dog, or maybe even a smidge of St. Bernard, but no matter, you’d be a winner with any of them! I’m “overnighting” these days with a volunteer and she says I’m doing great – learning good leash manners, ride well in the car, and use doggie door. I’m getting along fine in a home environment and adjusting to living with other dogs. Suffice it to say, I’m going to be a pretty big guy (I’m only a few months old now, so have quite a bit of growing to do!), but lots of times big dogs are way more easygoing than the little active ones! Why not adopt me and see for yourself!
